He does not stay neutral.

Okay, that was my impression reading the thread...

If you haven’t heard the podcast it’s challenging to express an opinion on it, no?

Which is why I'm not. Look, you are clearly a big fan of this guy, but if you want to keep hammering at anyone who disagrees with you, then you are displaying the exact trait you claim to dislike.

It's amazing how closed minded people are and utterly convinced their point of view is correct to the point any arguments against should be silenced. I doubt most people in this thread ever made an attempt to verify their beliefs other than reading and listening to people who support them.

I’m a big fan of open discourse. That is what the show stands for. Rogan himself is simply a vessel by which a variety of interesting people can talk to a wider audience than I would imagine most virology professors typically would.

My frustration is the simplistic way in which people are summarizing what is an interesting (and clearly popular) show; “failed standup”, “pseudo-intellectualism”.... over the span of thousands of episodes you will certainly find some chaff, but there are equally great episodes wherein interesting (and genuinely intellectual) topics are explored.

To suggest otherwise, given the sheer volume of content, simply isn’t true.

Beyond that, to suggest we should pick and choose ideas that can be expressed is something I find to be a very dangerous concept; who are we ordaining to make those decisions on our behalf? There are significant political biases at play for the vast majority of people.

I am all for peoples views and opinions, they are happy to have them. I live with a vegan ( not the protesting chain yourself to a farm gate throw bucket of fake blood type 😜 ) 😉

So two opposing views are presented, with evidence to back them up, and this Rogan guy is what, the moderator?

Who decides what topics are covered, what experts are chosen, and the format of the evidence provided? Is it all peer reviewed evidence?

It isn’t a debate show. It’s a show wherein interesting people who have gained some degree of notoriety in their field (be it botany, philosophy, acting, music, sports or business) come in and have a free ranging discussion with Rogan.

Rogan has opinions on certain things and challenges views; and guests often have differing views from one day to the next depending on who is on.

It is an open forum for interesting and/or notable people. Be they billionaire businessmen, university professors, athletes, etc. The defining element of the show is a diversity of views and opinions. It is one of the few mainstream, popular pieces of media that welcomes individuals from all sides of the political spectrum, not just right or left. Given that most are somewhere in the middle, that is refreshing in my opinion.

I don’t know Gavin McInnes - I would imagine Rogan disagreed with him If he was openly denying the Holocaust? I doubt he openly did so on air, but happy to be proven wrong if you can find a link.

And you mention Alex Jones but don’t know what his views are on this subject.... so maybe not a good example?

For sheer entertainment, listen to a Rogan podcast with Bob Lazar, who claims to have seen alien spacecrafts at Area 51.

Alex Jones does not need any more voice. Telliing people to attack the parents of dead children....

People send me links to short clips of his show. I didn’t know he was as popular as he apparently is but I’ve learned just because I don’t know someone is famous doesn’t amount for much. Especially with music, I wasn’t even around in the 60’s but IMO not many great bands came out after the 60’s. Yes there are modern songs I like I just rarely know who the hec sings them

I think it’s certainly a US thing. I’m in the U.K. and only came across him recently by accident when I was YouTubing Tommy Morrison.

The most popular podcaster in the world. Someone who is part enough of general social discourse that it’s surprising you wouldn’t be aware of them.
...
Let’s try and at least be intellectually honest here.

Well, I guess I'm not as trendy as you are. I'm in the US, and I still don't know who he is except for comments from this thread. My wife also doesn't have the slightest idea. I've also never watched Fear Factor or MMA. Do you have any more patronizing and insulting comments for me? Keep in mind that there is a slight possibility that I'm not an uninformed moron.

If this Rogan character interviews Michelle on the finer points of Omega’s latest novelties, I might just tune in.
