The universe just got a whole lot bigger.

It's mind blowing to see the distant content in that image and then to realise that this image is subject to the limitations of the James Webb scope itself.
Just think, if you scaled the collector size up by a factor of 10 or 100 what would our perspective of the universe be?

Just going to leave this here... in case it inspires anything in anyone.
Einstein would have loved that shot. Gravitational lensing galore!

Regardless of whether you are a person of faith, a person of science, or a combination of both, the size, the beauty and the sheer complexity of the univese is staggering. As our technology progresses, its mysteries are being slowly revealed to us bit by bit, but so much of it remains beyond our ability to comprehend. I feel sorry for the folks who walk among us and never find the time to stop and look up at the night sky from a dark location. Truly wondrous.

I confess to feeling a bit of relief that it actually worked! Complex unfolding procedure that must work without hope of repair by astronauts.

Think how far you've come, how much you've survived, how long the universe has been waiting for you, from dust and energy, you've outlived and grown out of everything that has come before throughout the last 13 billion years. Mind-blowing.

That bit by bit has been rather slow in coming, we only can comprehend 5% of the observable universe, the balance is dark matter and dark energy and we only have gravity in common.

And we may have been a bit further along if they'd have stopped burning people at the stake sooner.

These amazing images were shared above but here are the new Deep Field images side-by-side with the Hubble's images.

These truly show the new power of Webb vs Hubble.

Historic. Looking at that first image reminded me of the feeling I had watching the Apollo guys transmit on the way to the Moon. How small we are.

It is definitely an impressive tool. Can't wait to see what all they learn and how they put that knowledge to use.

Amazing images! I need to take the time to properly educate myself and my son on these. Something we both would enjoy, I'm sure.

Every advancement both makes me feel mankind is unique, and not alone. Wild!
