I have had some fantastic advice on these sorts of concerns from members on the OF and feel that the asking price is a lot of money (although not implying the watch is not worth it). For most any and all information, weather asked for or not is helpful. @bgrisso makes a very good point in my opinion.

I notice that the seller bumped the watch yesterday but has not made any note of the suggestion that it is a redial in their listing. I can only assume they hope any potential buyer will not see this thread. I do find this rather disappointing and while I understand that it might not be considered good form to point things out on the sales thread, I do consider this a weakness if there is a general consensus about the watch’s condition.

The seller must surely be aware of this thread, in which case they are now guilty of misleading potential buyers.

I applaud the OP for starting this thread. This is what makes OF a safe place to discuss and buy. It is necessary and should be encouraged, perhaps debated, but no one reprimanded in the process.

This is how we learn.

Seller chooses to ignore this thread. I have an opinion on that 🍿

I think that assumption (that seller is aware of this thread) is at present only an assumption - so it feels a touch too far to then assert that the seller is “now guilty of misleading potential buyers”

if anyone has had a discussion with buyer that concludes otherwise feel free to inject - and I notice a member has openly asked the question on the sales thread and so it should resolve itself some way or another in due course

Asking about the dial on the sales thread is a fair question IMO. However this thread was addressed to the seller via the @…… function. I’m pretty sure he knows that the watch is being discussed. Does not seem too interested in defending his sale posting.

True, one can only assume, but since the seller was tagged in the OP and has since bumped the sale, it would be surely be very unusual for him or her not to have read the OP at the very least, even if they chose not to read other comments. Given that, I feel my comments are fair.

not sure this is true.

for folks who “follow” a number of various threads yet only sign on every few weeks, you might be surprised what their Notification Center looks like. (To wit: it seems Seller has not been back on forum since bumping his thread, despite in the meanwhile others having @ him within his own sales thread; some of us may come running toward every OF notice, while others can be far less detail oriented.)

Not that I don’t understand your sentiment of course, instead just that I want to provide here on this thread the opposing view for any potential buyer (or on behalf of the seller if need be).

This seller has half the number of posts as you, despite having been here three times longer than you - so it may not be proper to project your usage habits on others.

Afterall, would you post a ~4 line sales description in the first place? 😁

Again, here not looking to argue with your instincts in any sense but instead only to inject some countervailing consideration before taking any chance of publicly mislabeling someone a liar and cheat.

Of course, and to reiterate, my comments are based on balance of probability. To have an item for sale and not to be curious about comments coming your way is curious at the least.

Very grateful to have BGrisso as an active member of this forum. He is potentially saving someone newer to collecting from making a terrible mistake.

Thanks @bgrisso for starting this thread and saying something. You have handled this as I would expect on this forum, with the caliber of collectors that are (generally) here and that have made this a great place. I think most of us share your view and way of going about watches (with integrity) and appreciate OF for exactly that.

I completely disagree, as far I am concerned redials should be disclosed, again I am extremely surprised to see the disagreement this has created, I thought these general forum values and conventions were widely agreed upon and shared

I really appreciate your effort in disclosing this, and thank you for it.

Haha, that's quite a cryptic response to Achim's question.
Must be a lawyer…
