Guys, if you're free, please spend a minute by going to eBay and reporting this listing as a fake before the auction runs its course:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/LIMITED-ED...E-TRIAL-SET-2018-PyeongChang-B-P/174016642756

I have an on-going thread about the "super clones" being sold as genuine on WUS (link below) and I found 2 instances of these same watches being resold on WUS. Stay safe out there, folks!

Just picked up a DeVille. Can't find a serial number. Please help. Looks nice, but is it real?

Is it the numbers in the circle on the movement?

Hello all!

I'm fairly certain this is a fake, but don't know enough about them to be sure. At the very least it seems pieced together (face, back, and band all say different names. I'm curious if any of it is genuine. My grandfather just gave it to me today.

Thanks in advance!

Your Grandfather must be a real joker, or else he's not very watch savvy, maybe you can educate him and then share the hammering between you.

Thanks for the quick replies, but no need to apologise. I had strong suspicions already. I think he paid $20 to $60 for it, and it was given to me free. I'll definitely educate him though! That just means I'll need to get me a real one later!!

Hello new members...

Welcome to the OmegaForums.net!!

I have specifically created this thread just for the newbies who come on here after they have been given a watch buy their uncle's uncle twice removed OR they have bought what you think is a legit Omega off good old flee bay!

The idea is you post your watch here and it is discussed by our panel of experts, who I might add, may say few choice words like 🤬 and 🤬 or maybe 🤬.

The will endeavour to be as blunt as possible, but getting you the answer you are looking for.

The main idea is this..

It will remove the countless new threads asking 'Is my watch fake?' or 'I was left this by my dad's dad's dad from 1860'

Any new threads will be merged in to this one as of now.

Thanks very much.

The OF Management & Moderation Department.

Fire away!!

The color/tecture looks wrong. Also, all of the fakes come with the bracelet wrapped up like that and they don't come from Omega like that. Maybe a reseller wraps up the bracelet, but it's still a red flag.

When the photo quality is that of an iPhone 1 from 2007 it's another red flag, along with the fingerprints all over the dial. The 1 megapixel resolution isn't enough to tell if real under the plastic, and the shadows make it too hard to find a serial number on the lug.

Definitely fake. To add to what Larry mentioned, lime pip on bezel wrong. It appears to be a mashup of the first gen and 9300 Planet oceans. Solid caseback, but two chronograph registers???

LOL I completely forgot about the caseback being wrong. And I missed that the 3 o'clock register should be 12 hours. Pretty bad since I own the Planet Ocean 9300 and wear it 5-6 days a week. I just looked at this photo and knew it was wrong and didn't really focus on why.

So happy to have come across this thread. I just landed my first Omega and I’m excited about it. Though the original papers weren’t available, the seller provided me with paperwork from the most recent servicing with Omega. I’ve noticed many of you are familiar with the negatives of the speedy reduced so I’m hoping you can help me out! First, am I dealing with an authentic watch? I figured the work done at omega answered this for me, but if anything looks out of line I’d love to know! Second, when it’s held close to the ear, the rotor can be heard clearly.. I’ve been told it’s common with the 96’ speedy, but would love to hear opinions! Last, I paid $1,695 all in for this. I thought it felt fair like a fair price seeing that omega just refurbished the watch. Let me know! Thanks everyone!

Think your post got missed. Sometimes a flurry comes in and the more needy get attention. By the lack of responses you could happily assume no news is good news. Looks okay to me, and if its been to Omega and that part is legit then case closed. Not sure how they get 'yellow' patinated indices on Luminova dials. Not the first one I've seen either. Hopefully someone will put me right. Only issue is change that bloody strap it came with! Who owns circa £2k worth of watch then butchers an oversize strap to fit?

Looks correct based off of mine. The only thing I noticed is that the polishing in some areas looks poorly redone to my eye so take into consideration for pricing.

Thanks Socks! I’ve looked into a new band, but I’m starting to think it may make sense to just recoup my money from this one and buy one with the steel strap on it already!
