The only problem I see is that the seller's address on the receipt is visible and it has a sapphire crystal
Here's one for the group. Found this on ebay. Not much information in the posting and just four awful pictures.
First, the ar coating just looks bad. Second the Seamaster text is the wrong color for this model. Third, the date window should have a black background. There’s probably a lot more, but that’s what first stood out to me.
How can you tell the sapphire crystal? The milky circle right? Does it look like there’s some scratches in the circle aswell?
Just shadows not scratches - but I prefer hesalite so much over sapphire that I have 5 speedy and all have hesalite, including two hesalite with a sapphire display back.
The seller assured me it was hesalite- That milky circle is from the all around lighting since he uses a 360deg light around the camera lens
It looks like Hesalite to me, but I can see where larryganz is coming from. The reference number also corresponds to Hesalite.
The date wheel being white is a dead giveaway. It's 100% fake. Why is there a 24-hour subdial? And two 60-minute subdials? You gotta be kidding me.
I did report it on eBay, hopefully why the listing is no longer active. The seller was 58timothy19. The etching on the back caught my eye: no planet ocean “globe” and the “planet” and “ocean” are not centered between the depressions. The chrono’s second hand is also too short. Thanks for looking at it and (hopefully) helping save someone money and hassle.
That's the first time I've seen that effect when someone took a photo of a hesalite equipped Speedy. Wow. Learned something new.
I'm buying this Triple date and supposedly the backs been cracked open and verified. Only photo at this point of this Speedmaster, but does anything scream fake to the experts here?
^ Don't know anything about this model, but let's just say a few seconds on Google has pointed out the the date font around the dial is wrong and that it's supposed to have an applied Ω logo, not printed. Maybe it's an older model or something, idk.
Hi guys! First time post, long time lurker. This Seamaster Deep Black just popped up for sale. Been looking and comparing images, and by now my eyes are playing tricks on me The seller sent me a few pics, and im spotted the alignment on the valve, checks, the luminous dot on the bezel seems centered, etc. Any and all inputs would be more than welcome.
