Omega doesn’t use “registered model”. Breitling does. Bracelet is wrong in many ways. Swatch group may be correct in that it is an older fake version.😉
Thanks a lot

Hello new members...

Welcome to the OmegaForums.net!!

I have specifically created this thread just for the newbies who come on here after they have been given a watch buy their uncle's uncle twice removed OR they have bought what you think is a legit Omega off good old flee bay!

The idea is you post your watch here and it is discussed by our panel of experts, who I might add, may say few choice words like 🤬 and 🤬 or maybe 🤬.

The will endeavour to be as blunt as possible, but getting you the answer you are looking for.

The main idea is this..

It will remove the countless new threads asking 'Is my watch fake?' or 'I was left this by my dad's dad's dad from 1860'

Any new threads will be merged in to this one as of now.

Thanks very much.

The OF Management & Moderation Department.

Fire away!!

Just like you did. Then hit the add photos button in the lower right.

Ok, maybe I’ve pulled my head out of my ass now...

My query is about this 3511.20. The thing that’s jumping out at me most is the case back and the lack of sharpness where it says SPEEDMASTER, the other item that gives me pause is the engraving on the clasp and the Omega symbol there. There are probably other things that will jump out at you experts. I would greatly appreciate an educated assessment of the authenticity of this piece.

Thanks in advance!

Chez

Looks fine to me. Never seen a fake with a serial number on the back.

Any opinions?

I'm pretty sure it's legit but let's wait some more insights. Do you have pictures of the bracelet and movement ?

Those are all the pics I have. The guy whos sellibg it also has a 60s IWC Ingeneuer that has the back off of it. I asked him if he could take a pic with the back off and he said, “ a watch maker friend of mine took it off the IWC but I don’t know how to take the back off the Omega”.

Now for the rest of the story... this guy appears to be selling some things that belonged to his father. He says the Omega doesn’t function and doesn’t know why. He’s selling it for $150.

I’m thinking that even if I had to replace the movement is still be in the watch under $700. Does anyone feel that this estimate is not realistic?

Now knowing that he has “a watchmaker friend”, I am wondering why he wouldn’t have brought it to the “friend” for an assessment(?)

I’ve queried the guy if his “friend” assessed the issue with the Omega; no answer yet.

I thought the watch looked legit too but now with the “watchmaker friend” involved (if true) I’m sniffing a little BS.

Does your friend know that it doesn't use a battery?

This story is strange. His watchmaker friend can remove the back from an IWC didn't explain him that he could also remove the pressed caseback of the Omega ?

He told me that the iwcpics were taken sometime ago and the omega was working at that time. He says he doesn’t care enough st this point to find out why it’s not functional.

At this point I’m inclined to take a risk on the $150 .... and just buy it.

Stupid stories where basic problem solving is inexplicably useless ends up 99% of the time being a fake and the seller knows it.

Just use the $150 for a nice night out with your family. Don't let the greed get to you.

Thoughts on this? I tried looking up the number listed on the case back but none of the results match the dial.

It's not fake. Japanese market Connie. I thought it was a redial but I have found another with this dial (doesn't mean it isn't just that there's more than one). http://item.ocnk.net/product/4803
