OK, just managed to see the post you linked back to.

It's nearly two years old and the OP never came back so he won't know that you saved his arse on this one.

I'm crackin' another tinnie.

The watch has a correct Omega quartz caliber for that model. Serial numbers on lugs may not have been done at that time (1993) and the He vv may have been replaced at some time (I don't know if they were stamped).

The little star has been mentioned as a QA or acceptance mark made by Omega. I've seen it on genuine Omegas but never on fakes.

I know bugger all about Seamaster Professional 300s, but this one looks OK to me and nicely aged.

Hopefully some of the dive watch gurus can give you some better advice.

Many thanks for your feedback 馃榾

Hi guys,

Thank you for the feed back so far regarding my post, I just wondered if anybody else had a any views about the authenticity?

Thanks again ..........

Please can you advise me if my Omega Seamaster 2541 quartz is real....

I鈥檓 worried about the following things on it...

- no serial number on the lug, it only has a star on it made up of 5 lines ( Iv read on line this could be a quality control marker)

- the date is gold not white
- the helium valve dosent have the logo on.

Please find attached some pics

Many thanks in advanced 馃榾

Good Morning Everyone,

I am a Speedmaster newbie 馃榾, but proud owner of 1948 Omega 265. I need your help please: I have seen a (too) cheap watch in Ebay; it looks fine, but the warranty card seems absolutely not matching the usual one. Can anyone help me please??

Thank you in advance.

Alessandro

How鈥檚 it going guys. Picked this up on the bay. Seller claims he bought it on Amazon last fall. I know it鈥檚 a gray market watch since he purchased it from Amazon but does it look legit? I thought it did until I started reading some horror stories. The sellers history looks legit. He鈥檚 been a member since 2003, does mostly buying and sells random items. Thanks for your help in advance.

What worries you about the watch itself? From what little I can see it looks real so far.
Does the Helium valve work?
When you turn the bezel does it have 1 or 2 clicks per second?
Does it feel nice when you give a few manual winds?
We need better pictures of the dial and clasp detail.

Looking for a hesalite speedy pro with displayback - led me to the 3572.50.
Thinking of purchasing this, but the second chrono hand/tachymeteralignment worry me.

Wondered if it was genuine, thanks

Hi there,

New to this, so if there are any glaring faux pas please bare with me!

A friend of mine was offered this watch to buy (pictures attached, hopefully) and he was indecisive about whether he wanted it or not. The build quality seemed very good, albeit neither of us know anything about watches. Just wondering if anybody could shed any light on the watch and whether it's worth getting or not?

I did a bit of digging around the serial numbers and identifying watch series, strap, build material, etc. based on the numbers. Some of them seemed to half match up, though none of them did fully, which aroused my suspicions.

If I'm honest, I suspect it to be a fake, as the price the seller wanted was simply far too low from the resale value of a genuine to be worth his time.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

1st of all, this is an Omega Forum and you are asking about a Tag Heuer.
2nd, that watch is a terrible fake. Do you really think Tag would engrave 50 THANIVERSARY?

Yes, this may be an Omega forum, however we tend to answer pretty much any request for information, especially when questions are politely asked.

I had realised yesterday morning that the post was about a Tag Heuer, which is my mistake. Somehow following links through trying to track down serial numbers and such I was led here, and hadn't realised. I'd intended to edit the post but the replies came in before I'd had a chance. I've never owned a watch myself, so while I can see how foolish a mistake it was to make, I can't say I am particularly clued up on which brands I'm pursuing, which forums are limited to which, etc. Apologies if this has caused any offence. Particularly to @f18sailor , whose tone would suggest that I made at least two faux pas that you simply could not bare with. In answer to your question 'Do you really think Tag would engrave 50 THANNIVERSARY?' I'd refer you to my first post, in which I said I suspect it to be a fake (your point being one of the reasons why) however I don't possess the requisite knowledge to know for sure, hence I ended up here, albeit in the wrong forum. Thanks for taking the time to confirm my suspicions, regardless.

Thanks also to @X350 XJR , it's nice to be nice, after all.

I'll be sure to bring all my terrible fake watches that aren't Omegas here in the future... Just kidding.

No offense taken at all. In general you might get more experts to respond if you go the brand specific forums. watchuseek.com has sub-forums for many brands and I'm sure Tag Heuer has their own forums. There are many fakes nowadays that are very close to the real thing and only the experts can really tell (I'm not one of them). Also, Googeling the watch you are curious about will very often show detailed pictures than you can use to compare. Especially watches with see-through case backs will allow a detailed comparison of the movement.

That belongs in the Museum of Fake Omegas.
It's not even trying to look like a real Omega, it's more like an interpretive riff on Omega.
