Can you share these resources? I'm quite intrigued.

The Omega website page for this model was snapshoted in 2021 for the first time on the wayback machine.

Hi, local FB marketplace has 2254.50 for sale. I can get it for $2500. Has warranty card and pictogram card no box. Has not been serviced in over 10 years. Crystsl snd bezel have scratches but case looks good with no major flaws. My goal is to bring this to omega and get full service and new crystal and bezel and make this thing look brand new. Original price was much more but got it to $2500 when I explained it will cost a lot to bring this thing back to life. My question to you guys is does it look authentic and is price fair based on today’s market? How does case look? Ps I did notice that the polish on bracelet looks more brushed even on the tiny links is that just from wear and tear? Thanks!

As Hen said the bracelet is poorly rebrushed, and that would be pricey to fix, like a new bracelet is needed.

I would say it looks like a good watch to wear as is, as you could get a very clean one for a lot less than fixing this one up. It all depends what you want, do you want a really clean one or one you can daily with out worry about a bump here or there.

how is the case condition? Will it look new and sharp after an omega service? I’m going to see if I can knock off more money since they ruined the bracelet. But only if the case is in good shape and can look near new after service. Thanks!

With the soft edges of case, is that something omega can fix when they service?
I am sorry, but I have no idea.

If you can lower the price even further, buy it and get the movement serviced at a lower price by a local watchmaker. Then wear it as it is, the ruogh looks are kind of cool.

Hey friends, years ago, I had a 2221.80 that I stupidly sold a couple years ago and have regretted. I found one on Chrono24 from a private seller in Singapore New Old Stock new in box still wrapped in plastic with all tags and paperwork including a receipt of the battery change from a boutique in January. He gave me the serial number, I called and checked with my local boutique, and they verified the number was correct for the model. I also had him take a photo of the serial number on the watch, that matched as well. I also have the protection with Escrow, and plan to bring it to the boutique to have them check it to confirm along with checking water resistance. Figured I’d throw it out here to you guys as well to confirm from the Eagle eyes. Thanks in advance for any help.

Does this look genuine? I think its 2014 model, are there good fakes of this model that I should be aware of. Should I prefer 8800 caliber seamaster over this model?

Yes - watch appears legit. A movement photo would confirm everything is kosher.

No - no good fakes of this reference. Most fakes are bad and easily spotted if you know what to look for.

Though cal. 8800 is a reliable and accurate movement, I wouldn’t base an SMP 300M purchase on the movement alone. There are many other differences between the piece in question and a current generation Seamaster. Only you can decide if you prefer the features and aesthetics of one over the other.

Cheers!

Hey everyone. I posted on the vintage Omega discussion page but I believe this may be more appropriate. I found this Seamaster 300 for sale on a local group and I want to check its authenticity before I go any further with it. I’ve done some research but I’m still not sure I trust my own ability to determine whether or not it’s authentic so hopefully you guys can help!

Thanks for the insight. Does this model use 2500c or 2500d variant, do you have any idea?

Aesthetical differences are not so important for me, between the new variants of smp. I can live without the wave details on the dial and date being on the right side looks better for me. I don't know if they have any more aesthetic differences. Having a reliable movement, however, is important to me.

Neither. It's cal 1120.
