I shall try to answer my own question. Perhaps someone will correct me.
I think it is fake:
- the OMEGA seems to be painted.
- I can't find a white wave dial anywhere
- the hands are short
- second hand is losing its tip colour
- Omega seem to match dial colour with bezel colour, in the rotating bezel models.

How did I do?

I see you like to resarch so try to google model that is written on card. 2252.20 and it will be easier to compare.

That made it easy. Thanks.
What is the difference between model number & reference number?

Hey, so I think I know the answer to this, but is this real of fake? Asking for a friend who I think made an unfortunate/uneducated purchase. The case back isn't transparent either, it's steel and says 007 across the back.

It's a fake. See step 2 here: How to spot fake: Omega Seamaster Watches - 10 Steps (With Pictures)

Hi everyone, a friend of mine is traveling abroad and came across this speedmaster in Iran. The caseback looks suspect to me. I'm sorry if these pictures aren't the best but they're all I have.

Is there anything on the back? The reflection is preventing me from seeing it.

It looks like a nice 145.022-69 with replaced bezel and chrono hand! Case back is probably ok.

Pushers appear to be two different sizes.

I would also have posted this in the Vintage forum, rather than the Modern forum. If this watch is real, it's vintage. https://omegaforums.net/forums/vintage-omega-watches-help-discussion-and-advice.23/ Start its own thread, don't post it in the Fake thread, it's not for questions.

you dont need to be a pro to see that omega will never make a watch that has a numeral (in this case, the 9) stuck right up against a subdial. At least they got the date wheel in black color right!

even the best fake speedys dont have the right 3 6 9 dial spacing. easy tell-tale is the length of the 3 6 9 tick marks should be the same as the others. I have never seen one fake one thats correct in that manner so im assuming the case, movement and dial are genuine. Franken at best (franken with genuine or fake parts like the caseback, i dont know). Speedy xSOTM or 57s are slightly harder to tell as they have shorter ticks.

Is there something that has you worried? What has your research found?

Good ole fashioned 2531.80 with the trusty cal 1120. Perhaps the owner was a bit zealous with the cape cod polishing but not a fake.

When I was researching it said that the luminous marker on the bezel should be centered and from what I see from this picture it looks off centered now I know it could be the angle of it but just thought I'd ask people who know because I surely don't
