Yeah the proportion, fonts and location of the bezel pip were what I was questioning. It’s very subtle, but may be something worth looking into

Hi, Thanks. Sorry what do you mean by the term pips??? I’m not familiar with that one. Is there any way to tell if it’s aftermarket or not, or would it be signed individually on the under side? I’m no expert on this subject so thanks for your help.

    Hello everyone!

what about this one? Is it real or fake? The strap is obviously not original. There is a scratch in the glass. But what about dial, case etc? What do you think? Is the back of the case odd? And what is your guess on the time of manufacturing? THANKS!! 2EDAF76B-AEBF-4561-A36A-BCE3F7903DDD.jpeg 16C90333-CCD5-44BE-BAE6-E07C805AF4BB.jpeg 1041D441-34B2-49DC-9EA9-588A242B40D9.jpeg 39D81FE1-D890-4D7F-885B-4E47F8EBB756.jpeg 374EC288-6455-46A2-9327-42F29673CAA8.jpeg

Hands & crown I don't think are original. Dial is a re-dial. Seen worse cases.

Two listings on eBay for Sedna gold & stainless Globemasters. Both with serial numbers starting with 87 (2009) for a watch that was introduced in 2015. Am I missing anything? Looks like two fakes.

All jokes aside, Rarity or not... You don't really think it's a fake do you? Not that I bought the watch.

It's 100% a fake. There are so many obvious issues with it. For posterity, I have added images of the watch you are referencing based on who you replied to. Etsy isn't known to be a reliable place to purchase watches and this listing made me laugh. If it were real, "Omega" and/or "Planet Ocean" would be in the listing title not "Men's Waterproof mechanical wrist watch." Note "mechanical." The entirety of the face of the watch is horrendous and is one giant flag. The dial says "chromometer." Awful case. The caseback has another tell as this is limited edition #1 of 5007. Please also note the terribly stamped "speedmaster" clasp on the also fake bracelet. This whole thing is a mess.

Edited to add: please also review this old thread regarding #0001/5007

It’s listed as a Cal. 613 Ref. 136.041. Cal 136.0041 checks out on omega vintage database with a Cal 613. But that’s as far as my knowledge goes. Your help would be appreciated.

    Evening all,

I recently had an usual find while metal detecting. It appears to be a seamaster 300 and I would be grateful if anyone could point out the likelihood of it being genuine.
Was found it a field that hadn't been ploughed for four years and think that from the pitting on the bezel insert I think it might have been buried for longer. It started working immediately after coming up and has kept perfect time over the last few days. The bracelet is damaged and its missing its clasp unfortunately. The bezel is also jammed in its current position.
The serial number on the rear reads 80639227.
    Many thanks.

@SteveMc, looks like a genuine 2254.50.00 (=reference number) which was produced between 2000-2009, given a low serial number I bet on the very early production.
New clasp and bezel kit (you can't buy insert only) won't be cheap but 2254 is one of the two most iconic Omega SMP references of that era. Nice find and good luck in the restoration.

No wonder I had a bad feeling in my stomach when I was talking to the guy. I'm not saying he knowingly knows he has a fake on hand. The funny thing is that the listing was not on Etsy it was on WatchUseek and Watch Recon. Is it possible to sell fakes on those forums?

I can’t speak to WatchUSeek as I’ve never been a member in there and don’t visit that forum. Watch Recon, however, isn’t a forum but a website designed to collectively showcase all the main watch forums sales sections (TRF, OF, WUS, Reddit). It was designed to be a tool for people to browse all the forums sales sections at one time and in one place. So, if I were to create a sales listing on OF, it will automatically show on WatchRecon. Which, is why/how you saw the fake on WUS also on WatchRecon.

These fakes in reality are VERY worrying now as I’ve seen a few super clones that seriously you can’t tell the difference, even the movements!!!
Always used to be Rolex copied but the Chinese factories are now specialising on most brands!!!
You really need to be alert.

Some are better than others, but the tells are there if you look for them. Real on the left for all below. The Tudor is actually quite a disaster.
