Trying to figure out if this is a franken. Being called a late 80s 145.022 but seems to me an early 90's 3590.50. I'm not great with the micro differences, but tachy seems right for the early 90s, as does bracelet. 17j 861 movement is around then too, but the case and movement numbers don't match. 48295xxx case and 46284xxx movement. Some say these ALWAYS match, other people say they won't until the late 90s or 2000s.... Tons of organized info out there on the "vintage" Speedys, but the guides seem to get uninterested by the late 80s onward. Which is where my interest lies haha

Hello new members...

Welcome to the OmegaForums.net!!

I have specifically created this thread just for the newbies who come on here after they have been given a watch buy their uncle's uncle twice removed OR they have bought what you think is a legit Omega off good old flee bay!

The idea is you post your watch here and it is discussed by our panel of experts, who I might add, may say few choice words like 馃が and 馃が or maybe 馃が.

The will endeavour to be as blunt as possible, but getting you the answer you are looking for.

The main idea is this..

It will remove the countless new threads asking 'Is my watch fake?' or 'I was left this by my dad's dad's dad from 1860'

Any new threads will be merged in to this one as of now.

Thanks very much.

The OF Management & Moderation Department.

Fire away!!

Well there鈥檚 not a whole lot to go off of... With that said, there鈥檚 just enough to tell that it鈥檚 most likely fake

Got this box used as a "genuine" Omega box from a trusted seller in the UK for my Speedmaster. Is it real? I have compared it to my 100% real Seamaster box and there are slight differences, but again, they are not from the same decade. Any way to be sure?

Looks OK to me, mine from an AD for comparisons

I actually passed on that deal because it was scratches up real well. He would not come down on the price. I'm looking at another one. I'm just weary about the fakes becoming impeccable. I'll have to get over that fear.

I didn't buy the watch. He would not come down a bit in price. The watch has some significant scratches.
I saw one recently that looks all right. On the other hand I'm not sure.

Hey Folks!
I鈥檝e found this guy who wants to sell me this. Just need a bit help verifying. Things seem to check out but I鈥檓 no expert. All help would be appreciated.
Additionally- if it鈥檚 legit- what do you think is a fair price for its condition?

Apologies if this is not the thread, I recently picked up this 8mm strap for a small watch the Mrs has. It was described as genuine NOS.. Does it look legit ?

Good afternoon all.
I鈥檓 looking at buying an omega watch, I鈥檝e looked at various watches over the past few weeks and I鈥檓 just trying to gain as much info as possible. Any help on the attached would be much appreciated. Unfortunately this particular watch doesn鈥檛 have box and papers sadly which obviously I would have preferred. The watch does look good to me and in reasonable condition all be it, in need of a clean that said I鈥檓 certainly not an expert. If you have any reasonable idea on year and price range that would also be helpful. I鈥檝e input the serial to find the date which comes back as 2006?? Thanks in advance.

It may be real, but the bezel at the very least looks off to me. 2006 seems like a realistic age

Thanks for your response. When you say off what do you mean, alignment or completely wrong. Thanks.

Based on what you said I鈥檝e checked the bezel off against other watches of that approximate age, and I think the numbers on the bezel seem more compressed if that makes sense and less proportionate. Is that what you were thinking or am I missing something else. Tbf I didn鈥檛 notice that until you questioned the bezel.
