Is this watch original? - Omega Bullseye

Hi! I recently bought this omega military watch and was wondering if it´s 100% original. What do you think? Also, couldn´t find an exact match between this dial and R17,8, which is the movement the seller told me this watch has. Found an almost identical dial with the famous CK859. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Dial looks original to me.

what makes you think it is a military watch?

The movement is a cal R17.8, but the watch is not military to my knowledge. I have no reason for concern about the dial at first glance, or the fact that you couldn't find the identical watch. A given movement is often found in watches with many different cases and dials, and not every variation is posted on the internet.

Thank you. Sorry for the mistake, it isn´t a military watch. Is the crown original (it´s signed...)? This is my first omega watch, even though I already have a very beautiful gold pocket watch from the 1920s, which I´ll post later. What do you think of the patina? I find it a very beautiful dial.

I don't know what the original crown would have been, but the Omega logo on the crown looks much more modern to me.

I think the crown is a replacement. I like the watch a lot. The dial has patina but is nice. I have two similar watched but without the step in the bezel. Love the slimness.

Nice watch! I like the patina. Looks like it has a Portuguese import stamp on the lower right lug.

Thank you for the comments. I´m from Portugal and bought the watch here. How can you tell it´s portuguese?

There is a little mark on the lower right lug that looks like a dent/damage. This mark was likely made by the Portuguese tax authorities to indicate that import tax was paid. They seem to be more common on the 11 o'clock lug.

There are several discussions about these marks. Here are two:

Thank you for the reply. I had no idea about that!
Also, how much do you think the watch is worth? Just so as I know if I got a good deal.

What is the approximate diameter of the case?

That's a nice wearable size. 👍 Between collectors, I'd estimate that it would sell for $300-$400 USD, more or less. Personally, I think it's an appealing watch and a nice pick-up.

The side of the case was another option for the portuguese stamp.

Enjoy it.

Indeed, I have a friend whose omega has it on the side.

Thank you! I do love it! However, I thought it was worth more, since I´ve seen a few for over 1000. Do you think this is an exaggerated price or are you devaluating it due to the patina (or anything else)? Anyway, it´s a watch I love!

Asking prices are often greatly inflated, and not the way to determine value. They are basically meaningless. And yes, condition obviously affects value.

Nice watch, but the crown is a replacement (it should not be signed).

As to valuation, I agree with Dan, it would be closer to $500 than $100. But you haven't shown the back of the case, which would affect the value depending on condition.

It´s in very good condition!

Hopefully, but that photo isn't large or clear enough to discern whether it has been polished.
