Is this the new Speedmaster?

Correct me if I'm wrong, as Archer pointed out, it's the reference 311.30.42.30.01.005 that was in production from 2014 till 2020. So normal, scheduled service interval, no?
The "normal scheduled interval" is a bit of a plot by manufacturers to have their customers support their service centers. I would not expect a modern Speedy that is even 6 years old to need a service... but who knows how it has been used during its lifespan.

I just got my 3861 hesalite and I am completely blown away by how good this watch is in hand. The finish on the step dial is very different from the previous iteration from what I can tell. Visually the new Speedmaster is perfect for me. I appreciate the smaller pushers and the more solid feeling when starting/stopping the chronograph. The new bracelet is very comfortable. It feels like a vintage bracelet but much more solid at the same time. And now for some quick pictures. My wrist is 7.5 inches FYI.

Looks great. Seems like Omega is shipping the sapphires slower to the boutiques than the hesalite.

Looks awesome- seems like those concentric circles are the clearest I’ve seen yet. I’m assuming it’s just lighting, but I swear those are more pronounced!

I wonder if it's possible that they just produced less of the sapphires. For the 1861 models, hasn't it been the case that the hesalite has generally been more popular than the sapphire? The demand for the sapphire relative to the hesalite has possibly, probably(?) increased because of the AML and reduced milky ring, but that's just speculation on my part.

The Apollo 11 bracelet on the new 3861 Speedy is a good fit. More solid than the fit on my previous generation 1863 Speedy. I also tried it using the endlinks from the Forstner bracelet, but those endlinks stick out just a bit compared to the Apollo endlinks, and the "tabs" on the Forstner links really aren't required for a solid fit on the 3861 the way they are on the 1863.

Strange. I tried to get this to fit my old 3861 and couldn't do it. Not sure what you did that was so different.

Checked in with my OB today, ans it seems that after the initial batch that was shipped to support product launch, watches are now only slowly trickling in, especially the ones on bracelet.

Is that your experience as well?

I just saw in a YouTube channel about how sharp the case edges are - like almost a razor blade. How do they feel to you??

I've owned one for over a month now and it's nowhere near as sharp as the person in the video is suggesting. This person also seems to engage in quite a bit of hyperbole. At 6 minutes, he says he fears he will be cut if he really pushes "hard into this edge." Well, even if he intends on stabbing himself with it, I don't think this new case is going to draw any blood.
He also seems to be using his vintage watch as a benchmark, which is simply not going to be as sharp as a new watch due to the fact that it's been through multiple owners and refinishings.

At the absolute worst, the caseband is slightly duller than the interior edge of standard Omega clasps. The slimmer caseback lets the case ride lower on the wrist, so the bottom edge might touch your skin when putting on or wearing the watch whereas this previously may not have been the case due to the taller caseback.
