Has anyone in Canada inquired about availability? Online seems to be a waitinglist. 🙁

No idea why couldn't they've just release a sapphire crystal with the same dome design as the Hesalite. Perhaps then people will stop complaining about not having Hesalite? They would only need to have one watch model instead of two.
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but if you look closely, the bracelet on the Sapphire model has polished links on the side of the center link on the bracelet. Whereas the Hesalite model has all brushed links on the bracelet. That might be enough to put some people off buying the sapphire model...

This is my question too and surprised I haven’t seen more comments and questions about it. (Or I missed them). Are we now going to see a lot of early Speedy’s with perfect DON? I am not seeing any glaring differences between the new and old versions, differences are pretty subtle from the pictures I have seen so far.
I'm also suprise that almost no one comments the DON bezel, and I sort of agree with one comment that in few years from now the DNN will gain value.

look better...old DON is different
I do not see that big of a difference...

I honestly do not feel that the hesalite version is a “downgraded/economy model” because it is lacking the applied logo.
I actually like the fact that it doesn’t have it, that the bracelet no longer has the polished portions of the links, and that overall, it is a bit closer to a tool/rugged watch.

Again, all tastes are out there... which makes life more interesting, doesn’t it ?!? 👍

I thought this scenario would eventuate.
The Hesalite has effectively been relegated to a downgraded/economy model. IMO.

Very disappointing but not unexpected as there has always been a bit of push toward a more "upmarket" Saphire variant with a correspondingly higher price point that effectively is squeezing out/marginalising the Hesalite.
Further.
There is no logical reason why the applied logo dial can't be fitted to a Hesalite variant, as if we need any more evidence that Omega are actively engaged in a program to Rolex up.
Very disapointing👎

It would've been really, really nice to have an applied logo on the Hesalite to coincide with the introduction of the new movement.
It's simply a mean act on the part of Omega🙁

Really?

The writing and the subdial changes make the new watch look more like a Reduced Speedmaster.

For starters...

Now, I admit I spend a lot of time studying dials.

On the DON subject, i do not see much difference on the bezel not on the dial or watch itslef, i thought thats obvious.

I inquired, put myself on a list... Seems like the estimated timeframe is March-ish.

Honest ask: couldn't one purchase the sapphire version and then put a hesalite crystal on it? Then you'd have that AML. I'm happy with my 1861. Frankly, I'd rather save up and eventually let the universe bring a real 321 into my life. I've made worse decisions before...

I like it and I want one.

But I don't love it enough to want to spend $6300 on one at the moment

I really do like this new bracelet. Figure it won't fit the outgoing model though, which will really bum me out if it turns out to be true.

Good that bracelet is looking mighty fine, I need to see more live pics, oh and the dial also seems to be perfected. but that bracelet is making me happy because its telling me Omega is listening. now lets see a bracelet overhaul for the seamasters.

Honestly, if your a NASA astronaut you probably wouldn't care either way since you are no longer issued a mechanical Speedmaster for your mission and you no longer wear one during your EVA as Mission Control provides you 6 time check updates per hour during your spacewalk.
Actually, this is what colonel Luca Parmitano had to say about the lack of timekeeping devices allowed for USOS astronauts during EVAs:
We don't wear any timekeeping device. Unfortunately. I wish we did, it would give us a lot of situational awareness. So instead we ask MCC.

Only Russians crewmembers are still issued 1861 speedys and are allowed to use them on ISS EVAs. I think this will soon come to an end: the loss of "Flight-Qualified status" on the 3861 can be one of the factors, but more importantly the new price point of the speedy is not suitable for an optional and redundant device...unless Omega pushes for a "sponsored" adoption.

The dial step also seems very soft in the photos. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the matte black paint used for the dial finish but it looks really unappealing to me.

Anyone can confirm this? As some other renders show clearly flat black subdials.

here its visible too. I guess the angle and light are important to see them 😉

Wow on the wrist really highlights how oversized the logo is, does not look right and has lost some of its balance.
Why work so hard to maintain the DON bezel font and then completely rework the logo?

The third photo shows the step dial quite nicely, also agree about the concentric rings in the subdials, it appears to be either invisible, or not there - the same with the outgoing model, despite all the promo and website photos showing them.

As a first time purchaser of an Omega watch, which one of the 3 should I choose, solely from an investment perspective.
I know, this is not what you should consider. I'm just asking the question:

1. This latest 3861 Speedmaster Moonwatch in Hesalite. (Yet awaiting availability information)
2. Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary in metal (Availability only second hand)
3. Seamaster Diver 300M 007 - No time to die edition. (Availability???)
