Announcement won't happen until 2021 at the earliest. The Omega CEO already said a new moon watch is going to come out in 2021.

What made you believe it was going to get announced this Tuesday? Because of Speedy Tuesday? I am really clueless.

It's a Tuesday, the leaked document says that "Omega is returning to the story in 2020", and there aren't many pre-holiday Tuesdays left in 2020. But mostly just because I want to put my order in.

The business day in Geneva has just finished - no announcement unless they announce in a US timezone

it's a perfect size for a 17cm wrist and very legible. Listening to the 5hz tickingrate is always a pleasure.
I’m excited to see one one day. Wear it in good health!

I would love to have the new Hesalite, but not with a tapered bracelet like this. It’s even more tapered than the strap!?! 🙁 Who told Omega this would be en vogue?

It is unlikely the clasp itself is 15mm. I think the bracelet tapers down to 15mm where it meets the clasp. Clasp is probably close to 17/18mm similar to the Apollo 11 50th and Ed White bracelets, which works really well. To fit a 15mm wide clasp, the bracelet will have to taper down to 12/13mm. Very unlikely that Omega would do that.

New guy here. I just bought a 1861 Hesalite at Chrono last week for $3900 new. I just did a quick check right now and most new ones have gone up at least $500.

I think it's probable that the old bracelets may be compatible with the new watch. They don't have the central retaining tab, but they have the side tabs, so if the lug holes are in the same position, the old bracelets should fit.

Nice. Wonder if it will hold. A 500 dollar/euro price jump in one week is crazy. Don't recall it ever being this intense for a regular hesalite speedmaster. (Excluding the big box introduction ofc 😉)

Several people have commented that there is/will be a drought of Speedmaster and specualtion will drive up prices. Then again, these people are mostly grey dealers/youtubers/instagrammers and have done this for years to drive up pricing of other desirable brands/watches.

And here you go AGAIN. More interested in value than the watch. Can you stop with the Rolex type hype rubbish as it ruins forums where people are actually interested in the watches rather than ‘life changing’ $500 gains. There’s a stock market forum not that far away.

I don't think prices will change much. I think the market might see a lot more 1861s though.

Yeah and it's always the big question if they are successful. I love the 1861, I don't think many people will swap one for the 3861. Maybe in the future when parts become more scarce. I believe this is like 20+ years from now.

Forgive the noobie or uneducated question, but are the dials of the Pro and the FOIS the same size - I know the FOIS is stated as 39.7 and the Pro as 42 - but is that simply the difference due to the lack of crown guards on the FOIS or is there an actual size difference - would like to go into the AD/OB to try a Pro on, but whilst in Tier 3 with vulnerable persons in my bubble, I don't want to risk it until mom has been vaccinated, and the danger is if I wait then there may be no 1861's left if the size is indeed different, if they are the same then I am not so sure I want (need) a Pro.

Dials are the same size, and so are the bezels. The only major difference dimensionally, is the midcase which is a bit narrower and does not have crown guards.

I was in the same dilemma re Pro and FOIS. Believe me I have read countless opinions and views about these two Speedmasters. I tried a FOIS and Pro and IMHO there is little between them re size - I went for the Pro.

Yes, there is the crown guard and different lugs but for me the difference was minor. I wear mine on a leather or NATO strap. My Pro bracelet has remained in the huge presentation case since Day 1.

I like both but just prefer the hands and hesalite on the Pro plus the historic connection to moon landings.

As a side note, never connected with the Speedmaster Reduced which I had for only for a few months... also recently a Speedmaster Triple Date (MK40) - the size was nice but the dial was a tad too busy so was flipped.

Can you imagine sending in your old 1861 speedmaster to Omega for service in the next couple of months. If the caseback is damaged enough for them to want to replace it, you just might get the latest & greatest caseback with the returned watch. Not sure but after a while they will stop producing the caseback with the "old" engraving.

That may trigger some owners. 🙄
