Hello, new here and in serious need of advice. I'm interested in buying an omega watch from an online auction, specifically this (speedmaster moonwatch "APOLLO XVII" Ltd edition), does it look original to you? Here are some pics https://imgur.com/a/PWluOm4 Hope imgur rendering makes them clear to see. I also uploaded screenshots on the forum hoping for better img quality. Thanks in advance!

What makes you think it wouldn't be original?

I'm just asking some people more expert than me for an opinion, not saying it's fake I just want to be sure I don't throw my money out the window.

Most people have a love it or hate about this piece. I don't think there is a huge market to fake these. The one you are looking at appears fine. Have you checked the sellers background? Do they accept PayPal or major credit cards? It the sale through a known auction/web site?
There are a lot of these out there right now and the prices seem to vary widely. Shop and chose carefully. I didn't really like it at first but tried one on in Milan a couple years ago and WOW. Best of luck. Stick around and let us know what happens. I'm interested in the pricing on the one you are looking at.

It's genuine. But you better get a hell of a discount as these will be impossible to resell. I've seen 3 different boutiques still have this watch in stock. That's right, a Limited Edition is still available in at least 3 boutiques 8 years after the release.

Absolutely true. I've seen resale prices from high 4's to high 6's (USD). Haven't run across a new one in a US boutique but they seem to still be available new in the EU.

They're still available in Boutiques and in ADs all over the US; I saw one just a couple weeks ago in the Bay Area.

Be sure to stipulate in any purchase deal that the watch is serviced beforehand - it's been sitting or run intermittently for 8 years and will probably need a refresh of the oils I'd think.
