Expensive purchase for a newbie. Tell us more about yourself and what you like about the watch. :)

My thoughts are from the one picture shown it's a nice ed white, the tops of the lugs look quite shiny. I would probably buy it from that one picture if the price was less than US$5k, if the asking price was more than this, I would need many more pictures.

I've worn watches my whole life ( not expensive watches), I've had an interest in Speedmasters because of their invovlment with the space program, I never missed a launch. I've been looking at Speedmasters for a bit. And then this Ed White showed up. I like everything about it. The ask is 10.5K as an all original 1965. Thoughts on what you see from the picture? I'm also a timekeeper for a living.

Think your missing the point. We find it hard to critique a watch on one picture let alone a $10K one.

From the one picture it looks ok as @shaun hk mentioned above.
    but
is the lume removed, does the movement # match up, does it have all the same parts, is the side of the case we don't see over polished. All of this effects the price.

Would I drop 10k on it. No, not without a lot more pictures.

When you say "this watch", are you saying you own this watch and want to know more about it, or it is a watch you have seen and are thinking of buying?

For an all original Ed White, I would drop down $10.5k.

    Questions you have to answer:-
    - is it all original (Check movement, serial on movement, reference inside case back and verify these)
    - if not all original, does the watch appeal to you enough to pay 10.5k

It's hard to be certain of much from just one photo. What research have you done so far and what is your opinion of it?

From what I can see, it appears to have the correct dial, bezel and hands. The dial looks like it might have the lume intact but it's rather pale and also may have wear around the subdials. Narrow spaced T etc is correct though. The pushers also may be original with the fat stems , or they could be replacements, hard to say from that one photo and the angle it's shot at.

The case appears to have seen some polishing but again, more pictures are needed to know the extent of this.

You must also see the movement for condition serial number and the caseback for the reference. Without this, it's very much a gamble.

Thanks for your reply. I'll see the watch in person next week. The claim about the watch is," it's all original" the person selling it for the current owner is well regarded. However, I'll meet him and the watch for the first time. Your impressions the of watch were what I was hoping for.
    Thank you.

It's a horrible watch. You won't buy it. You will tell me where it is listed for sale.

This "all original" Ed White appears to have an incorrect rehaut and crown.
