chips & beer please! ::stirthepot::

Until today: non information concerning the producer (markings) of this (kind of) dial.
And: it is not a matter of wear of the tampon-print. Omega would never accept this in QC.

It鈥檚 actually a genuine dial, but not often seen.
Yes, he is 馃槑
A-ok dial, and on top also correct within that serial and with the cal 550

and read this:
Oh thank you guys, you made my day! 馃槄
It would be hard to return this set to the seller if needed..

And thanks for the link - I haven't seen this topic. 馃憤

I will not eveal to much for potential fakers, but the blue circle ist the best proof.

If you have never seen a dial under 15x magn. you should not judge...

Here it is:

I cannot comment on the dial, but I would not recommend that you handle any components of a watch with your bare hands, and especially nothing with radioactive lume

A good point in general but it鈥檚 tritium lume. It鈥檚 next to inert by now after 5 half lives and offers no radiation threat.

I plan to wash my hands with soap at the end of the day.. if I don't forget. 馃き

Seriously speaking, there is almost no radiation left: the half-life of tritium is 12.5 years, that is, since 1969, it is about 4.5 half-lives.
Based on this, we can calculate that the radioactive substance (at the current time) remains about 4.6875% of the total volume of tritium.

the radiation concern is just one factor, (small in this case), the primary issue is damaging the watch components by handling without gloves/finger cots

Here's also, posted here a few days ago - a watch variant that looks the same as the one being discussed now (dial and caliber combination): https://omegaforums.net/threads/reasonable-asking-price-165-024.179633/#post-2437091

Just make sure you don't ingest it (inhalation, swallowing etc) that could cause some trouble. Keep it on the outside.

I have learned something today. I would have thought that the damage that runs under the "300" looked suspicious, but I am glad to learn that is its all legitimate from those who know.

No-no.. I will not lick it or inhalate an particles of old luminophore.. Please, don't worry about.
Actually, that's quite safe item do to it's age and material used: old tritium is not old radium..

Hello there. I would be most grateful if anybody could give me some feedback on this particular watch. Its advertised as a Geneve, but has no such marking on the watch, nor the swiss made inscription usually found at the six indice. Was there such an original model with black indices and hands? Is the dial original.. Many thanks in advance for what I'm sure is a trivial and all too common enquiry. The watch is listed as - OMEGA Geneve Vintage Manual Steel Gents Watch 131.019 - Year 1970.
