Is this a 105.002 or 105.003?

The rehaut/tension ring appears out of place and not original. The hours markers are shorter than normal. Is there a way to find out which reference is this speedy? http://www.ebay.com/itm/201132112979

Regards,

Tony

Best way is get a look at the inside case back, and get a serial # of the movement... that poor Speedy has had a very rough life.

not worth that kind of money , if 003. kind regards. achim

I am inclined to agree.

It is possible the buyer/bidders thought it might be an 002.

There have been few examples available, and none in this "barn find" condition, which always seems to make some reach deeper into their pockets.

What can I say I like to gamble! 😀

I'll be honest I just love the grey almost blueish colour of the dial and think it will clean up nicely plus I don't have one of these 002/003....will keep you posted !

Looks like the odds are stacked against your bet, brave man, Justin. The missing push button with rust around it points to likely damaged/rusty movement inside. But you can still cover your bet with this 103: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111423805483, the lowest price for a decent 003 I've seen lately.

Well done Justin. I thought there was something very appealing and honest (I didn't spot the hybrid endlinks) about the beaten up condition of this watch. It was impossible not to imagine how rewarding it would be to get it back after a clean and a service...

If you feel rash or have doubts today - take comfort from the thought that some of us have bought houses and cars with similar motivation and with much more difficult consequences! Enjoy a great ebay win and I'm looking forward to seeing your "after" pictures.

this is one has the wrong dial.

I would rather be in need of a movement than a dial.

The 003 I just posted the link above has now increased in BIN price, from GBP 2150 to GBP 2400. 10 offers refused already.

Yes, I just realized the T markings and apparently dome dial.

The op watch is interesting.

In a few months he price will be forgotten.

in the second example, the buyer will have to forever remind himself of the price

What reference does the dial of the second one belong to, if it's not a redial?

It's got short indices and an applied logo.

i have seen these dials on watches that are said to be factory serviced some time ago.

i wait for the gurus to speak on this one!

Your website shows one with short indices and applied logo also, Mr. Spacefruit. The differences are dome vs stepped and probably T markings.

Regards.

Very much looking forward to seeing how the first watch cleans up. Hopefully a decent amount is dirt and grime rather than corrosion.

With th the second watch, I'd say the flat ended chrono hand and 70's bezel with the large letters (both of which clearly have a good amount of age to them) adds weight to the suggestion that the applied pre-pro dial with short markers may well have been a 70's service item.

Doesn't the first watch have the wrong hour/minute hands for a 002? I thought the 002 had the broad arrow hands.

nope, most had alphas, the last tiny batch had sticks, no broad arrows ever
