Good points and kind of what I was wondering about after I looked at the serial no. So with Omega - if the movement and the case do match they will send an extract? And if these do not match - what do they do? Just take the money and say no it is not original or just do nothing?

I do want to get the crown replaced since it isn't correct or original. The crystal I also want to do just so that I can see the dial. I won't mess with the rest of it.
For an Extract you give them the serial number. They report what the movement was in when it left the factory.

You will receive an Extract for the movement stating which reference number watch the movement originally came with. You will hope to see 165.024, if the movement has come from something else then you will have that reference number on your ( now worthless ) Extract.

I must also say that to me it looks like both of the lugs on the crown side are short, OP?

Well I guess I can't get an extract since I am in the U.S. I need some kind of workaround. It does appear the other lug on crown side is a little short too but not on the scale of the other. Not really noticeable unless you stare at it awhile. The original owner must have worn it in some odd way or had an unusual job or hobby to get these worn down like that. Ideas?

If the extrakt says 165.024, something's very wrong 😉

Just my kind of watch. I love the Wabi and would not touch the crystal or the case, crown should be the only fix in my eyes. A real tool watch with history.

Maybe polywatch the crystal a bit, fix the crown and leave it alone - if you do too much to it you will kill the patina and IMO, the desirability.

Great piece - mine says hello....

I may be out of line, but I think you should give up on that basket case and sell it to me. 😗

Sorry for my ignorance but what is 'Wabi'?

I like your watch! Maybe not had as hard of a life. I will fix the crown and that's about it. I would like to see the dial a bit better...

Not a chance! 😀I'm a basket case myself so I have feelings for it.

If anyone can help on this...I have measured the outside of the crown tube on the case and it is about 2.5mm. I looked inside the tube and don't see threads. Would this be a replaced tube or original - anyone know? I've been wondering if the watch might be slightly older than I originally thought - especially if the movement is a later replacement. Any chance it could have had a NAIAD crown?
