If you had one quartz watch…

Bought my wife a SGBX349 and she loves it. Keeps perfect time and I never have to set it, reset it or adjust the date for her. It’s ‘my’ perfect watch.

My own quartz watch is a Breitling Colt II. I know it’s not a GS but it is a COSC certified quartz watch and it’s been running like a champ now for more than 15 years. I had Breitling service it and replace the battery once. It’s due again.

BTW, I’m pretty new to the Omega Forum and watch forums in general and I have a question. I’m not trying to troll or stir up anything but what’s the consensus opinion on GS spring drive watches? Are they considered quartz watches or not? IMO, they’re not. They’re mechanical watches that uses quartz to fine tune accuracy after the mechanical part has created and done 99% of the timekeeping work. FTR, I own one so my opinion may be biased. Mine is a SBGA009 White Birch. Superb watch IMO.
You have some nice watches! Feel free to add some pictures.
To me the Spring drive defies the quartz vs automatic categories- they are an exciting new technology when I add a modern GS (so far only vintage GS) I will get one- but I will probably go for one with the power gauge on the back. How do you like it?

My White Birch was my first GS and I love everything about it. It’s one of my all time favorite watches. The fit, finish, look and accuracy are all as good as it gets IMO. That’s coming from a guy that also owns Rolex, Omega and Breitling. The power meter is on the back and that’s where I prefer it. As a direct result of buying the White Birch I’ve since bought 3 other GS one of which is the one I bought my wife described above.
