Fratello's blog post indicates afternoon and evening in the Netherlands, so it should start maybe in 3 or 4 hours time I guess
May be a way to ensure that the West Coast of the USA will be awake this time…

Would have been cool to have a little rover as a presentation trinket…

Whew! For a minute there yesterday I was worried I'd have to spend some money. Now, 15 minutes after the announcement, I'm struggling to remember what they released

Sooooo…. Besides the orange bezel insert, the gradient black to red on the chrono hand and the new case back engraving… what is new? 👎
Edit: oh, ok: new movement for Mars environment. Got it.

I like it. If I were in the market for an X33, I'd definitely consider this new release.

Fortunately, I ain't in that market.

It tells Martian time. A very useful function if you happen to be on Mars. I need one just in case

Looks great, a spacefarer's toolwatch after all...
I just wondered if there was some feedback given on how both Omega X-33 Speedmaster chronographs held up during the 4 hours long Russian ISS EVA-53 spacewalk of August 17, 2022 ?
After all a SpeedyTuesday event and that would be the first question on my lips as the MarsTimer will probably be used on the surface of the red planet !

The watch is now live on the US Omega website… but not available for order (yet): $6,400!

€7.1k in the Netherlands, a big ask IMO.

Agree… and remember that US prices do not include sales taxes which in most states are around 6-7%!

I am not sure that people will be able to keep filling the never-ending price increases…

I'm feeling conflicted with this watch. I'm leaning towards that I think it's ugly though.

7 percent isn't bad, it's 21 percent here so with the weak euro a shopping heaven for Americans.

At least we don't have to hear complaints about "another limited edition"...or the long wait list...

Quartz? Guess I'll keep my ingersol snoopy 😉
The mars sol calendar is interesting enough. Now I am going to have to figure out a mars centric orrery. I find it interesting that the constellations would look the same on mars, but the pole would be in the wrong place.
There have been many attempts at creating mars clocks. Of course the hours are the same.
I have a soft spot for mars. There was a time when I woke every morning to download the latest engineering cam photos in 3D. Also have all 7,938 or so images from Mariner9 on my laptop...

Well I like the X33 in general, but this one does nothing for me, far nicer variants with the Skywalker with the green details being by far my favourite.

Not that it matters, I live with reverse savings these days.
