What’s the One Omega You’d Keep If You Could Only Keep One?

Random question for the Omega crowd:

If you were forced to sell your entire Omega collection and could keep only one watch which one would you choose?

And I mean regardless of value, rarity, resale price, or what would be considered the “smartest” choice. Just the one you genuinely wouldn't want to live without.

Would it be a Speedmaster? Seamaster? Vintage piece? Something more unusual?

For me, I think the hardest part wouldn't be choosing the watch, it would be knowing that all the others were leaving!

Curious to hear what everyone would pick and, more importantly, why. Bonus points if you tell the story behind how you ended up with it.

It would be my 3523.80 blue triple calendar speedy. After having to sell them all back in 2003 or so, reacquiring another one of those was a top priority and I got it around christmas 2014.

For me, it would be my 3861 Speedy Pro hesalite. It’s the most comfortable watch to wear I own, looks good with anything, and fits my lifestyle better than any of my other watches.

I prefer having at least two watches to swap out, but if I could only have one, it would be the Speedy!

I've thought about this quite a bit but...

For me, it would be my Modern EW321 Speedy. Speedmasters are my absolute favorite, and it is my favorite one. I'd actually almost immediately need to pick up a second watch though. IMO, a 'beater' watch is basically a necessity for me, so I'd need SOMETHING for those times. A few of my Seamasters fill that role.

My Casino Royale 2220.80 Seamaster. First time I was able to buy something expensive on my own.

My Ranchero. It was manufactured during the same month and year when I was born. In addition, it has enough radium on the dial for me to get a tan.

If I could only have one Omega, it would be the Ed White cal. 321. The Ed White cal. 321 is the ultimate example of Speedmaster and the Speedmaster is the standard bearer for Omega. As an aside, I have a SMP 300M and a Silver Snoopy too. But, my Ed White is something special.

Prob an SMP of some description. Maybe the 2230.50 non-AC. Though the gold bezel inlay might be a bit soft for forever use. Or a 2254. Or 2255 which is even more robust as the uncoated steel bezel insert can be polished back to mint unlike the others. I love my vintage Ed White but not sure I'd want to wear it every day as I like it the way it is.

Curve ball suggestion, the Trilogy Railmaster would make a good forever watch if you can get on with the chunky bracelet. Perfect size at 38mm, great visibility (just like the Ranchero above in fact), modern reliable, accurate movement etc etc. I had one but stupidly let it go. They didn't sell well when new but I suspect will find a following at some point.

Very tough question. My third-generation SMP Diver was my first Omega, and I wear it a lot. I'm wearing it as I write this, in fact. My 1861 Speedmaster is also a regular on my wrist. But just one?

I may change my answer later, but I'd have to say that my Trilogy SM300 would probably be the keeper. It just hits so many notes: size, movement, and style.

Probably this one for me, at least at the moment. Comfortable, classic and it great shape for its age. I have a modern Seamaster Railmaster that has been great though. Tough call.

I only got two (well 3, but plastic Speedy dont really count) other is a -66 18k Geneve that would go before the Seamaster.
