Identifying this Omega Seamaster

!!!! Newbie alert !!!!
Hello all,
This is my first venture into the Omega world so go easy folks, I don't want to have to report anyone to the RSPCOO.
This Seamaster is my first purchase. Bagged on Ebay a couple of weeks back. Wanted to pay £550 but chased it up to £900 in the end.
I just loved the hands and dial, which stood out for me.
The Serial number dates it 1958, so the dial has almost certainly had work done. Nevertheless, I think it looks stunning. The mesh bracelet is after market
My question are:
Has anyone seen this dial and hands combination before or is this the creation of some Omega Frankenstein?
What kind of bracelet or strap would this have come with?
What type of presentation box would this have come with?
Shoot me down if you must, but I'm thrilled with this watch. If it falls short on authenticity it'll hurt but I think I'll get over it.
Over to the experts

As already noted this is a just something made up by someone looking to make a quick buck on something flashy, it never was a Seamaster.

Even £550 would have been far too much to pay.

Same as above. I will return it, especially at that price.

- doubtful (to say the least) redial
- overpolished case (waay overpolished)
- watch hand: not even sure they are Omegas (but I may be wrong here)
- potential issue on the movement or the whole assembly: the several marks on the caseback suggest the barrel is touching it, for quite a long time. Given the overall state of the watch, I doubt it was taken care of...

You are entitled to like it. But you paid way too much for it...

Do not even think about the correct bracelet/strap and box for it. 1/ even for the same watch in good condition it would be difficult to tell (and it won't add any value) 2/ so many things are wrong with it, the strap and box should be the least of your concern

Sellers fabricate these watches because they know they have a popular look. They are made to deceive. Unfortunately, the dial and hands have no connection to the original watch. At 200-300 GBP, maybe one could justify buying it just for the cosmetic appeal and the value of the movement/case, but 900 GBP is real money, and implies significant collectible value IMO. I would like to know how the watch was described in the auction. I am also wondering whether the bidding was legit.

Thanks gents.
Thanks for the sound observations. I'll come here first next time.
Clearly taken hiding on this one, but we live and learn.
Thanks for your views as well Dan, the bidding did jump substantially right at the end. I'll see what the seller has to say, but I think I'm going to have to suck this one up and do better next time.

PayPal covers at least 90 days since the date of your purchase, give it a try!

You were robbed. Probably literally as I imagine this was shilled to death, fantasy dials like it get sold and relisted time after time. You paid about £750 too much, it's junk. Unwind the deal, ebay or PP will back you.

How did you make out with this watch? Were you able to return it. I mean if you like the look of something you like the look I get that but if you wanted to get into omegas and had 900 euro or pound or whatever that symbol is (sorry I only see doge coin symbols everything else is foreign to me, they only accept doge on my island) you could get something very nice. I guess they used a few ideas from different omegas and threw them on the dial.

Just thought I'd drop a quick update on this thread.

I've honestly very much welcomed the directness when putting me straight on what was clearly a disastrous, aesthetically lead, purchase. It is a lesson learned. There are a lot of these on ebay, so a lot of people getting mugged. It's not good.

Any road up, emboldened by your observations, I contacted the seller and raised my concerns regarding the authenticity of the dial and hands. In fairness to them they did not quibble at all about refunding my money and I now have my £900 back and hope to spend it on something rather more worthy.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Congrats ;-)
In this price range and vintage: not easy to find an (good) Omega (with black dial?) I suggest to search in brands like ENICAR , Cyma and Bulova. They have built nice and solid vintage watches; just search at C24.

The break advice is for the buying, not the search 😜

Try to look for what exists and train to spot defects, just do not buy yet.
When confident enough, start looking for something you will buy. Decide on your maximum price for this watch and do not go above (or just a by bit, but on purpose - still chosen from the start: 550 -> 553.47 is a good way to beat the guy who bet 550 too). If it goes above, let it go, you will find another one.

Vintage black dials are usually redialed, good ones cost a lot more than white dials.
And you can definitely score a nice vintage Omega with £900 (even with £500)
