Excuse my lack of knowledge, new to the world of Longines watches, but wondering if anyone would kindly offer their thoughts on this watch?
All I have is that it's 9CT and just over 33mm case diameter. Quite keen as it doesn't appear to have been over-polished, unlike most of the other I have looked at. Unfortunately no image of the movement

Hello,

Not sure if you are looking for something specific.

Dial looks good to me, hands seem also to fit too, as per the case, can't say much with only those 2 pictures

Looks totally legit and original to me, I can't guess the reference or caliber from the photos.

Thanks...to be honest it would tick two of my boxes. I haven't got a Longines or a solid gold watch in my collection as yet. I really favour the dial design, clean and uncomplicated, and although this one has some speckling it's not bad at all.
Wifey was saying that if I bought any more watches I'd need a display case for them. I said that's a good idea, but can't possibly print her reply.馃檨

I just realized I do have a Longines and a Solid gold watch. Just not together and the GW is a ladies Cocktail omega.
Some of the longines PW movements I have do not have cases. I wonder if they were SG.

My Uncle left me his Longines wrist watch. I gave it to his grandson. One has to draw a line somewhere. I think giving it up made me appreciate the brand better. I also gave up the Bulova's.

Perhaps I should consider a display case. I tend to throw my watches into boxes, then put the boxes into drawers.

My only concern is that some of these older Longines can be slightly small, say 32/33mm diameter but then you鈥檒l check before you buy.

I must admit that I'd pondered that one. I've got a 1952 gold-capped seamaster which, at 34.5mm, is about a mm bigger and I think it sti暮l wears reasonably well on my 7 1/4" wrist. Maybe just a little bit of nostalgia for the old dress watch days, though.

I think this case would wear well. The condition is very good.

Could that in fact be a Dennison case I wonder? It looks awfully like a 13322, those were seen under many maker labels.

What is the asking price? The omega ones are usually in the mid hundreds of gbp.

Have read a bit about Dennison cases for Omegas...apparently slightly heavier cases but much the same in terms of values. It's coming up in a local auction, so you never know.

Just reporting back folks...unfortunately got outbid, including commission went for 拢470. Set myself a 450 limit...as it would have been to keep, should have gone perhaps gone further, hey-ho!
Thanks for your advice, guys.

I think you were probably on the money. It prob needed another 拢200 plus spending to service it by which time you have 拢650 in it and as I mentioned above, the Omega versions fetch around this. I can't see the Longines equivalent being more valuable, prob about the same or slightly less even. Nice looking thing but there will be another along, they aren't exactly rare.

Thanks, that's reassuring, that I didn't go too high. They're hopefully like buses....miss one!!
