Oh yes, we got back around to that and a restarted the clock on the subject.
Apparently number of things were wrong.
Firstly, it's a BMW.
Secondly, the free servicing period has elapsed so he has to start shoving his hand down deep into his pocket.
Thirdly, the wiper blades need to be changed and the regional dealer has allegedly had them on order for in excess of a month with absolutely no word of a date when they will come in. As he's understandably shy of going non-genuine with the wiper blades that are widely available, he's holding out for the dealer to supply.
There was quite a lot of discussion around that at the table among the lads.
Fourthly, he has some trouble sourcing tyres for it in his part of the world.
Lastly, I said he should've bought a nice example of his dream Bimmer if he wanted to have one in retirement which I think is one of those early 80's 635CSL's
But as I pointed out some of his problem is with a bit of planning.
And the fact he probably should've bought something else when he retired.
