Given the way the lume is partly gone, the dry color of the dial and the brown-ness of the writing, i’d say that this looks like a baked dial. And an overcooked dial at that...
Any idea how that is possible?

Nee, maar als ie op marktplaats staat ;-)
Not sure if Dutch is allowed here 😉. But have you seen the 145.022 with DON about four weeks ago for €3000? I still can cry about that, that I did not bought it. Even with original receipt from 1971.

Slightly OT but do you have a link for that particular watch you’re referring to? Thanks

No I haven’t, it was sold within a day. I did not had the knowledge about the watches at that time. I’m just a beginner. But I was close, but not close enough

@papajan just to be sure, I assume you refer to the watch offered for 8,5k Euro? If not, we might be looking at the same watch, with very different ads and possibly different sellers?

Dial baked, and bezel bleached.

Is it not too even to be natural?
I do not belive so. Others have presented like this. I postulate its from being worn with rough shirts, hence its darker on the inside. Perfectly even or darker on the outside raise flags for me.

has a tropical dial
Sorry, but this is not a “Tropical” dial. Tropi-damaged maybe, but surely not “Tropical” by any stretch of the imagination...

I'm afraid I missed that one. Was it in the same spot?

Where are you spotting this watch (besides Marktplaats.nl) ?

Need better picture of the dial and serial number, for sure,
OK, for the Forum's Info: just received the following additional photo's from the seller. On my question regarding serialnr i received the answer "its period correct, but don't have it in hand. Will have it openen at my watchmaker to check. BTW: its head only, with box and papers they go well over 12K"

The OP watch is being sold by a “seller”.

Seems like he has just enough knowledge and skills to really shaft someone.

Euh... learning moment: What is a "seller" ? Beyond the obvious that he is selling?

It is better if possible to buy from, in order:

1. First Owner
2.Owner's estate/beneficiaries
3.Collector
4. Professional Dealer
5.Hobby Trader

The OP sounds like a hobby trader - what I mean is his hobby is not watches, his hobby is making money. So he will do many things that the other four groups of people will not do.

So I call him a "Seller" meaning selling is his priority. Not a crime, just be aware that anything he says is probably unreliable.

If you really want a watch, keep an eye on the Private FS sale section, AND read the post history of the seller to gain a feel of who they are and if you think you would like to work with them.

So he is not willing to reveal more I'd say. For good reasons, otherwise you'd be able to see what he doesn't want to be seen..
