Ok, not a Seiko, but does have a Seiko movement…TMI NH35. I got the kit for Christmas and spent about 4 hours (with a few breaks!) putting it together. Overall fairly straight forward process and the directions were easy to follow. Had a heck of a time getting the hands on, but with a little help from my son (younger eyes), we were able to get them on. End result result came out pretty good, and I learned a ton along the way. Sharing some photos of the play by play…
Congrats! That looks like a fun project. How strong is the lume? Any pics of that would be appreciated. Enjoy it!
Lume is pretty good. Here are some shots. Long lasting too…I glanced at my watch at about 5am and it was still going. According to the website, they use Superluminova C3 lume
Absolutely. Was a great way to learn about the watchmaking craft. The build process is pretty straight forward and instructions easy to follow. Before this, the most “watchmaking” experience I had was from swapping out straps and a few (stressful) bezel changes on my GMT
I love it. I’m pretty sure I tried ordering one but they were sold out. Now with that particular one you have where is says “watch club” do you have to join and you get things sent monthly as I’ve read about those. I think that would be a great entryway into modding. Is the movement fully assembled and you just place it in or did you actually work on that as well. Good on you that is really interesting.
I saw this advertised on my Instagram only recently. Looks like a fun project. Maybe when my children are a little older
Thanks for posting! I saw an ad for that a few days ago and was really wondering about it. Glad to see someone's review.
