·I was collecting watches 50+ years ago when I married Her. So She's had lots of time to get to accept the idea. Plus I have acquired 6 or 7 watches for Her. She understands that my collection has cost me less than a smoking and drinking habit would have cost me. Collecting watches is like having your cake and eating it, too!

·My wife says get whatever I want, that I'm the man of the house and she will not meddle. Sounds great and all, but at the end of the day, a dollar spent on me will result in her asking for something 1.5x or 2x or more of what I bought. my last Omega resulted in a handbag and an upgrade to her car. 🤦

··Spam RiskA few years ago my wife and I were visiting the Omega boutique in Chicago. They happened to have a limited edition platinum Speedmaster for something like $95,000. I told my wife that I would like the watch for our 20th wedding anniversary since platinum is the 20 year metal. Not being well enough off to be able to afford a platinum Speedmaster, this was said very much tongue in cheek. When our 20th did happen to arrive my wife took me to see my friend Hussein who is a jeweler. Hussein had a small box for me, and although it did not contain a platinum Speedmaster it contained something I now cherish more than I ever could a watch, even though it is watch related. Hussein and my wife and one of her girlfriends conspired to make me a Platinum. Hippocampus. The level of thought and planning blew me away. And to say no more I now show you my most prized possession.
I am still trying to find a way to top this one in the future, but I do not think it will be possible.

·....because everyday I wake up next to her and it already feels like a good day......but it does help that she hates shopping, likes beer and football and the only thing she wants to spend money on is travelling, we have only been to about 40 countries so far so plenty more places to visit.
