Hello! I intend to buy this Rolex, with the reference code 16013, year of manufacture 1975. I wanted to ask you what you think about this watch. Thank you!
Its price is 5500 euros. It may seem like a lot, but that's how the chrono market works. The bracelet is stretched, I know, but I say it's normal for how old it is .... I will receive more pictures with him tomorrow. My impression is very good about how it looks, especially considering the age it has. I am waiting for other opinions!
Seems expensive, but I'm not up on current vintage Rolex DJ prices. I can't tell from the pics but that much stretch often occurred on the US made Jubilee bracelets which had relatively thin 14k gold links. They started using the heavier 18k Swiss made bracelets around 1978. Just something to check. I had one of these in 1976, retail price back then was US$775.
Thank you for the answer! Do you have any idea if the bracelet has a risk of falling apart while wearing it? And can it be repaired so that it can be tightened again?
I'm not seeing any issues with the watch based on that photo, looks legit. As noted above, the bracelet seems to be on its last legs. There are people who can restore them, but it will probably cost you in the neighborhood of $500 usd.
That bracelet is indeed at risk of falling apart at that stage. I wouldn’t include it in the value of the watch because I wouldn’t trust it and as Dan said, it would probably cost around $500 to have it repaired. When looking at a watch like this, it’s important to really do your homework and look at comps. These aren’t rare watches so there’s a ton of them out there to which you can compare for value (completed eBay auctions may help give you a ballpark of what they are actually selling for). It’s easy to get caught up in wanting something, but being an informed consumer is your best asset.
I wouldn’t be a buyer at that price, watch is one of the most common DJs and condition is poor. Many better ways to spend $5500 in the watch world unless you’re really desperate to have Rolex on the dial
That price is considerably higher than the current market price for a vintage DJ in that condition (well worn), especially with a Jubilee as stretched as that one. As others have said, at least $500 to restore the bracelet to an acceptable condition. These are easy to find in better condition for much less money. Keep looking.
Hello! What does this watch look like? It seems to me that it looks better than the previous one. But I don't understand one thing, exactly where I surrounded it ( red circle ), is it a scratch or is it because of the way the picture is taken?
