do we know this for sure?
Yes.

It won’t be worthy. No 321 movement
still conceivable - there's some more options however true that 321 would be a big hit in 50th.

Talked to OB Zurich again earlier today - they already have a "long" waitlist, but take no deposits (yet).
In that case I have to run and get on that list asap

Well, I recommend to buy a Vintage Speedmaster which was produced around 1969. IMO that will give you a much stronger personal connenction to the historical event of the Moon Landing (in case you need that feeling) . Look out for a NASA issued Version 😁
Nice idea mate,😀... but if your going to enhance the celebration with a vintage Omega Speedmaster , it's no good doing half the job with a 1969 watch. Do it properly with a pre-moon 105.012........The 'real Moonwatch'!👍 It may even be a better investment than a 2019 LE in the long run.

I'm not sure if I have a picture of one 😕.........😕........... Oh look....I've found one that I just happen to have.😟
(Yet again I must apologise for shamelessly parading my only decent watch on this forum like a 'Parisian tart'😟)

Following some kind of retailers conference with the Omega Mothership earlier today, the NYC OB is beginning to call clients that have expressed interest in the 50th Anniversary piece and is offering a place on the list for a $5K deposit. Clients must have purchased a watch previously from an OB to participate.

Deposit? For something that nobody has seen and which may prove ugly in the end?

I’ve never had that happen in UK

Any UK people confirm on this piece?

The 5th ave Omega boutique in NYC officially started taking deposits, you also don't need previous buying history (confirmed). It's a fully refundable $5k, so worst case scenario you get your money back and didn't earn any interest on it for a few months assuming you had $5k to float around...

I can already hear the complaints of guys who made a deposit and all they get months later is a refund 🤦 even if they take 5000 deposits, they won't get as many watches from HQ 😀

OB sales guys will for sure have some alternatives to suggest before they give the 5 grand back 😁
