Those threads (including the TZ thread) had more DIY art & crafts ideas than usual.

Lol, nice touch!

Yeah, those were the good ole days. I do miss assigning joke avatars and custom avatar messages that were permanent reminders of that member's silliness. There was a time when you didn't want to do anything quotable.

Not exactly a rare piece but I wear my Ed White all the time, I might take it off if I’m doing some diy but that’s about it

Wear it...what is the point of having it if you aren't going to wear it? Keep it nice so your kids can sell it on ebay after your gone? 😵‍💫

The watch has been on my wrist all day ... the box is in my safe, though.

Love it, fair play👍 I don't see the point in having it in a vault. What I was really trying to ascertain was if it makes you more cautious than wearing your daily beater (hence why call it a beater)

Would you have a pet greyhound and force it to sit still all the time? No, you'd better take it out to run!
A buddy of mine used to have a retired racing greyhound. They are about the world's most gentle and laziest dogs.

Until they see a rabbit (or a squirrel!).

Two pages in and only one watch posted?!

Okay, I'll play. This AP is considered rare enough that Watch Time did an article on it and 3 of it's siblings (4 different references total) in 2005. They were showing the low production numbers of the caliber, and then mentioned it was rare in yellow gold. I've only seen one other in white gold, years ago on another forum. I wear it relatively often - and more frequently than most of my other watches.

Retired greyhounds are all we've ever owned. Mine have always been partial to squirrels.

Stunning!!

But what I was wondering from the beginning is do you worry about knocking it and damaging it more than say a less rare and expensive piece. What I am trying to understand is does it affect your mindset when one particular watch is worn that another - it has too!

What's the point of having it if you can't wear it. Most watches were designed to be worn in the real world... so thats how I treat them.

It can be a real bitch to find parts for an old watch if you damage it, but thats part of the game.

Doing a DIY now. Had a few bare spots in grass. Added seeds and water every day for two weeks. I'm wearing correct watch for the job. I'm not a big fan of wearing the Ed White when I have to work. So I totally get your point.

Nope, doesn't even cross my mind. Strap on watch, slide cuff over top of it, head to work.

..... although I do still stare at it a few times a day when nobody else is looking. 😉 🥰

That works for you and I in our jobs. Not everyone wears long sleeves.

Well I don’t wear long sleeves at work, but I can still slide a cuff over a watch to protect it.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
