Just was wondering today on how often you guys and gals wear your special and rare pieces?

The other thing I was wondering about was when you do, do you find yourself being extra careful about knocks etc.? Maybe extra chunky jumper to protect it :D

All the time. Otherwise, what's the point of having them?

    If I can’t wear it I don’t own it.
Not picky on clothing, but will pull the sleeves well down if surprised by humid weather.
Also avoiding wearing certain watches when cold outside from fear of condensation when moving between outdoors/indoors.
    EOL. Watches are for wearing!

Geez, how can you risk putting any wear on a rare watch? You gotta protect it, even from a single drop of rain! See this post:

Watches are made to be worn. Would you have a pet greyhound and force it to sit still all the time? No, you'd better take it out to run!

I like the analogy but I thought greyhounds were in fact couch potatoes... (that have an ability to run fast).

But you would be extra cautious if you were out wearing a 2998 or pre-moon 321 with straight lugs etc.

You have to be screaming inside sometimes, DON'T TOUCH IT!! (@ulackfocus - I set you up there)...

No worries. And I wouldn't touch it - not with a 10 foot pole! :p

Those aren’t particularly rare watches though, certainly replaceable (albeit not cheaply). Do you really mean “rare”, or rather “expensive” ?

Depends. I don't dress up very often and when I do it's a wedding or watch related event. So if I am dressed up, I'm wearing MY dress watch, a gold speedy. But mainly I'm running around in a t-shirt so I normally wear a steel speedy. When I go on vacation it's the modern ploprof. And when I want to change it up, I wear the blue AT (some may call it the skyfall, only the 39mm is the skyfall).

As far as rare, I don't concern myself with that. Bought it to wear it, and not really thinking these watches are rare. Maybe in another 30 years, a few of my current 50 year old watches might be rare. I will let my boys deal with it once I pass.

As others have mentioned, if I will not be wearing a particular watch for any reason, I have no interest in owning it. No such thing as a safe queen for me personally.

He deleted them. He was constantly starting trite topics, the kind of things that had been rehashed hundreds of times, and when members started calling him on it he ran off in a huff. That's why he received the crybaby avatar and the custom avatar message you see now.
