Do you wear your watches in lockdown.

Absolutely. I’ve worn a watch pretty much every day for over 40 years. I’m working from home. While I don’t need to be dressed for the office, my watch is nevertheless essential. Ain’t the same without one.

I'm semi retired but if I don't put on a watch of some description I feel sort of naked.

Not wearing a watch is fine if what I am doing is a non watch job, cleaning the car for example, but the moment I finish the job the watch has to be put on, it's bizarre but once I am awake and up the watch has to be my wrist.

I never wear my watches at home, lockdown or no: it helps minimize the chance of doing any damage to my watches.

How do you enjoy your watches if you don’t wear them as often as (I assume) you’d like?

I’d never wear mine if I was worried of them risk of damaging them’

It almost sounds like anxiety and not enjoyment when it is actually on the wrist? Worrying about damaging a watch surely increases 10x when your out of the house?

edit: obviously I don’t want to ‘damage’ mine either - but I wear mine 24/7 - I enjoy gazing down at the dial throughout the day.

Us watch enthusiasts are a weird bunch... obsessive with what’s on the wrist, but then when we acquire great pieces, we’re almost too cautious to enjoy the great piece.

I enjoy them outside of the house... for some reason I've always had bad luck wearing them indoors, so I just take it off when I get home and put it away.

I am wearing my watches now as I did before the pandemic. I figured out some time ago that almost no one appreciates the watch I am wearing, so I wear them for myself. And enjoy them. 😁

I’ve now been locked down for 4-5 weeks and haven’t worn a watch the whole time.
Do you wear yours around the house?
I wear them on both wrists and ankles- 24/7. The late Fidel Castro won't come close to "style".

Are you sure that they're watches, most people who are wearing bracelets on both wrists and both ankles usually find they they belong to the local correctional institution. 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

Sorry, couldn't resist 😗

I've been wearing my IWC aquatimer chronograph 3719 on a rubber strap which is a good choice for endlessly washing your hands, and it also tells me the day of the week, which is harder to keep track of than you may think at the moment. .

I still wear mine. I rotate them too like I normally do! I still have to go into the office every 3 days. When teleworking though, I still wake up and put my watch on as if I am going to work!

The only time I don't wear a watch is when I am in bed or working on bricks.
