Like others, one watch (and not too expensive) and it never leaves my wrist...well almost never.

Wear my Seamaster Diver, carry my Seiko beater in my hand luggage.

Just the one, usually a CWC G10 since it works with most types of clothes and doesn't constitute a financial disaster if it's lost.

I usually bring 2-3. One for the beach or pool, and 1-2 other watches for fun.

If I'm going camping or something less luxurious, then I'll just bring something reliable that I don't mind getting dirty and wet.

One at most if I really need a watch. Any superfluous valuable that could prevent me from fully enjoying my trip for fear of being lost or stolen I don't bring with me. BTW I don't leave my watches at home either when I travel. They go to a depository. No fear of being robbed while away = peace of mind.

I usually take two, Speedmaster or Seamaster as daily wear and one of my constellations for evening wear, I like the change to a lighter watch in the evenings. I have a travel pouch to carry the constellation in and I keep it in hand luggage at all times and in the room safe when out.

Normally I take 3 watches, but this year I think I will just take my MoonSwatch. I have never had any issues but I mainly think about it in terms of what watches are easily replaced should something happen.

1. I travel with two - one for evening and one for the day
2. I put them in a watch box.
3. Don't be silly. If you're not wearing your watch, put it in your suitcase or the room safe. Lock your suitcase. I used to own a business in the hospitality industry. Most thefts occur because people leave valuable items lying on the bed, countertops etc.
In the streets, most people don't know various watch brands outside of Rolex. Even if you wear a Rolex, most people can't tell unless they're extremely close to you.

EDITED TO ADD: Make sure your insurance covers theft. Most travel insurance just covers your hospital bill if you get sick. Sometimes homeowner insurance will cover theft.

Just got back from a seven-week trip to UK, Portugal, France and Italy -- combination of friends' houses, Airbnbs and hotels, travelling by plane, train and hire car. Took 7 watches in a roll, always hand-carry, and none of them Rolexes.

Tourists do get watches stolen, but it's rarer than we think. The best reason not to carry too many is that if you're a worrier, you ruin your holiday because you're constantly fretting about getting them stolen....

I usually travel with this one. I often wonder how much magnetism they pick up in the airport imaging.

Zero… work at an airport several days a week sometimes and never had an issue. (Even work one of the X-rays a bit, the bigger ones that do the checked luggage)

Tudor GMT, and usually on a black rubber strap - but I will either take or wear it on bracelet depending on the travel.
It's robust, has good water resistance, and of course, the GMT function.
I consider it to be an excellent travel watch.

Depends what you’re doing and you’re right, India is safe. In fact India has some awesome hotels where you can have a drink and do some watch spotting.

Depends what activities you’re doing but I normally take 2. One for everyday wear including swimming because a dive watch can work casually and on the beach. I then take another to jazz things up if I’m bored. Last holiday I went on I just took one. But wearing it for ten days, I came back and put on my others as I missed them.

Also depends on which functionality. I took a GMT last time for time difference. Time before I took a chronograph

One to wear and a Favre Leuba Sea Bird as an alarm watch. I think using a vintage alarm watch is fun.

Just one
I don’t want the risk of losing an expensive piece so I take a dual time Ana digi that also keeps track of how far I love each day- last trip mar/apr managed a 33km day around Naples, avg for the trip was 18kms per day

Just one watch in my case.
I usually avoid to bring others since I do not trust key or safe lockers in hotel rooms.

I have a "system". I always bring at LEAST two watches.

First, my apple watch is with me through the airports and when I work out.

But, second, I have a TIMEZONE TRICK. I don't adjust well to time changes, so, as soon as I'm settled in my airplane seat, I turn OFF the apple watch and pop it in my bag, and bring out the mechanical watch, which I've already set to the destination time. It helps me really adjust to the new timezone all the way across the flight, as I subconsciously check it and slowly reorient.

Even if I'm not skipping time zones, I bring a mechanical and try to get away from electronics. I usually travel with something with some good water resistance - My Doxa 300T is a great travel watch, for instance, and I have others. But, for the last 6 months, my hands down favorite has been my green 300M. It looks bright green iin the sun and almost black by dinner time. Durable, attractive, super flexible, fun to look at. Works with everything.
