How long have you been on the cal. 321 waiting list?

Very interesting that I have the complete opposite view - and that's what makes it fun! Hope that you will get your dream 321 with professional case some day! For modern ones they may need to tread carefully though so that they don't kill their current 3861 line with the professional case.

I am also wondering if they have to do a professional case in steel - what can they do to (1) gauge enough interest from enthusiasts to buy one (for eg, if it's a professional case with white dial?); and (2) not affect the potential buyers from their bread and butter 3861.

I personally would wish the next steel 321 to be in ck-2998 form - but then again that may piss the owners who had the FOIS.

I think Omega really missed a great opportunity with the FOIS. The FOIS has really not much in common with a 2998. But what do I know....

I was just offered one at the OB in Tysons, VA. The SA said the person they ordered it for declined it.

Edit: I’m not on the list, just stopped in while I was in the area.

No, I don’t have anywhere close to $15k in my watch budget currently.

IDK. I love my FOIS. Still as great a watch when it was when I bought it.

And it sure helps to have the FOIS to cuddle up with during the eternity it is taking for my EW 321 to arrive.

Only 321 I've been waiting for is the one Ed White actually wore.

Has anyone ever learned who bought that watch at auction for about 30k?

Some unsuspecting guy who took his wife to the mall and is just trying to kill time will stroll in to that OB, just intending to browse, and walk out with an unintended surprise. "Look, honey!" Sometimes luck drops out of the sky. I've had that happen a few times with watches.

Anyone asked about wait times recently in their OB? My first Omega will be the white dial speedy, and I feel like it won’t be my last Omega. I might be interested in a Globemaster or AT next, but wondering if I should just jump right in and ask to get in the EW list.

I visited an OB a couple weeks ago and unsuccessfully begged for a half hour to get on the list. I explained my appreciation for the history of Speedmasters, my love of manual wind chronographs with a lateral clutch, my love of space history, etc. The manager was very clear, "I only get a couple a year, and they're going to customers that have a massive buying history at my store, those customers have purchased $50,000 or more." I don't blame him, those customers earned it; but it's lame to not even add a person to a list. I'm on another list at an OB in a different state, but last I checked I was something like number 60 and will never make my way up.

You and I should both just go grey market and get it in two days. It's not that much of a premium, considering how amazingly rare it is to get it at a boutique. I'm just not sure which grey market dealers are trustworthy. I hate the idea of sending five figures over the internet for a used watch I can't inspect in person first. Anybody have experience with LuxuryBazaar or WatchBox or BobsWatches? Those guys are constantly making YouTube videos, so they are kinda top of mind.

WatchBox, European Watch Company, David SW, Crown & Caliber are all above board, you aren't going to get cheated with them. On C24 your payment is held up until you have the watch in hand and can examine it, so there are various ways to get an EW.

Was visiting my AD today, I could have walked out with a 321, he told me he's not the only one so seems to me the times of paying over list are over.

Just curious where this AD was? I've heard 321s are sometimes available in store in Europe. Still hoping to find one in the US.

Unless the stars are absolutely in alignment, you aren’t getting a 321 just walking in the door. I’m not sure what that says about the OB if they’re just selling it randomly when you have loyal Omega customers waiting.

Well I spoke to the manager of the AD, I declined to try it on, I stated I was just surprised to see it in the shop, he replied to let people know it was for sale. There were no customers anymore on his list.

I was on the list when it first came out. OB called about 2 or 3 months after. It was a hard pass for me at that point. I don’t like it. When it was first announced I expected something different.

The EW 321 was announced in Jan. 2020, before Snoopy, not surprised that each of these is becoming a little more available. They weren't going to be permanently unavailable for purchase.
