Is there any way to verify a serial number on a pre-owned 2020 Seamaster?

Only for watches up to 2008, OPs watch is 2020.

 

2020 Seamaster most likely is METAS, then you can use its METAS code + serial number + reference number for accessing the METAS results on Omega website.

^^^Here, I ran some cross-tests with a known fake and looks like METAS results are presented to you only if you have used a particular (correct) serial number with the particular (correct) code.
That may (indirectly) help you to verify the authenticity, if that is your concern.

 

Easiest way is too call the Authorized dealer wherever it was purchased from and have them check it. Although depending on the model that is being sold it might get the original purchaser banned from that AD
