How do we feel about the Tissot Navigator?

7734 Tissot I bought in Lausanne on my first trip to Switzerland in 1977 @ 17 years old. Sat very broken in a dark drawer for 40 years, fully restored from the ground up by Archer a year ago, now keeps perfect time well within COSC! Love the patina on the indexes, result of so many years in dark, cold storage.

Thanks @Ron_W : yes I find them interesting : nice 70s look with those chunky cases but still decent size (at least not too big for my average size wrist), seriously performant Lemania chrono, actually nice to wear and love using the chrono (to play of course).

I've been trying to know a little bit more about the racing story too (they were present at LeMans racings in the early 70s with Alpina drivers for instance) but could not find much... something to dig into 馃槈

About Tissot and racing (and in this case particularly the Navigator) there sure is a connection
My watch and a scan of an original ad I have:

Tissot had some great original designs, but also many that are virtually homages of other great designs from Omega and others. Reducing their value is that they don't have the cache of some Swiss brands, IMO partly because they didn't sign their watches much. You usually see blank case backs, crowns, and even rotors. Quality watches nonetheless.

Taken a liking to this diver I recently picked up. Very rare limited model for French divers as it shows the outline of France among the surrounding waters, the seller assures me. Maybe built for Jacques Cousteau!
