I enjoyed The Prisoner and Secret Agent (Danger Man) growing up in the 70s. Apparently Patrick McGoohan was offered to play James Bond but turned it down. Username is my name Doug and a shortened version of my Polish last name, oft misspelled or mispronounced!

Whoops--forgot to respond to the Username part of the question.

My username is my first and middle initials spelled out with my last name and mushed together. I've had the same username since the early 90s when the internet first became a thing.

Also, I was a volunteer writing teacher at a prison for 13 years, so if it's read as "jail block," that's appropriate as well.

Avatar: whatever watch in my arsenal that I am currently vibing on hard. Most recently, 3861 on a horned Komfit.

Username: my initials + the number "1" for a thing I started doing at the beginning of a second chance at a new life ~ back in 2005 when I tipped the horse scales at 501 pounds to present at 170 pounds, no matter how far I ride my bike, no matter how absolutely exhausted and bonky I am, when I arrive back home I stop at the house and then ride one more mile before calling it done. Proves I am here, still in the game, can delay gratification - be it relaxation, food, rest, anything.

I salute you, sir. It is clear that the number “1” was hard fought and earned. Congratulations on a life changing achievement.

Medical practitioner whose formative years were spent watching Austin Powers movies. Have also used the username as a gaming tag. My old avatar was a space man from the online game Among Us. Changed it to my current one as it's more appropriate to my username. Cheers!

Got back into motorcycling about a year ago following a 30 year hiatus from it…so I bought a new 2021 Honda Monkey [see pics #1a and #1b below]…and I bought a die cast model of it [see pic #2 below]. Also, the “dontspankthemonkey” text under the username originally references an unauthorized mil patch [see pic #3 below] that some of us would wear on our flight suits and/or flight jackets during deployment…and it’s appropriate regarding my Honda Monkey since it’s fairly slow compared to other motorcycles…

LATE ENTRY: Forgot the username part…the MD88/MD90 aircraft was my previous ride at Delta Air Lines before they retired it [I flew it for about 12 years]…the MD88/MD90 is nicknamed the “Mad Dog”.

Your name definitely had me wondering. There were a lot of gems in that list of band names. I think I might re-roll as Punchface Champions.

Not deaf but about 40 dB less sensitive than the average person (both ears, since birth). The name came about from my roommate during my college years. We were both fond of blues music and the artists had the funniest names: Muddy Waters, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie McTell, etc. so it was a perfect fit. He was of Asian descent (still is) so I called him LeJaune (The Yellow) because I loved JB Lenoir (The Black).

When it comes to usernames/ profiles I’m very old school - I always use my name and typically a picture of me!!!! I like to think that “what you see is what you get”!!

Damn. Wish I'd put more thought into my username 🙁
Not even worth an explanation.

My Capricious-Watch-Slave moniker came from Eugene Andresson, as in "you're a ...", after one of my many "I just bought the greatest watch... I have too many watches...I sold it...Look what I bought!"

That reminds me of the Top Gear episode in Burma when Richard asked James what his call sign would be. He replied, “James because that’s my name.”

simplicity is best!

I'm afraid my internet name is misspeld by me. When I was younger my father made me a member of a field hockey club here in the Netherlands. It was and is quite a big sport here. And for the americans, not only for girls. Haha. Well, it turned out I had a bit of talent and when I was 12 I played it like 5 to 6 times a week. I also played with adultes at a very young age and soon I was selected for the dutch national team. My one and only goal was to win the olympics and become the best player in the world. In that time Ahmed Shahbaz, a Pakistan player, was considered as the best player in the world. I saw him play in Barcelona at the Olympics and he was incredible. I'm not active on the internet so when I became a member of OF I chose him as my internet name.

The funny thing is the olympics in Barcelona was also a turning point in my short career. I was 16/17 at the time and had already won two national championships. I was playing for the biggest club in the Netherlands. My best friend was a very talented football player who was selected for Feyenoord which some of you may know. Well, you could say he and me found out that going out, drinking beers and smoking joints was more interesting then training daily. Eventually we destroyed eachother sportscareers. But we had a good time. We even lived in Barcelona for a while. At the end we both became lawyers and we're still best friends. I never played at the olympics. But it's all good.

My internet picture is from the sea and the beach. A tropical island which I will never see because my wife/girlfriend is afraid of flying. But hey, we can dream about it. : )

My user name is my favourite boxer, Randolph Turpin and how his name was written in the program for the GB vs USA amateur boxing match in 1946.
'Turpin R Royal Navy'
Turpin was a future gold medal prospect at the 1948 Olympics but was only 17 and considered too inexperienced to beat Harold Anspach. The Leamington Licker won by 1st round KO
