As for my username, I'm an attorney. I owe my avatar to Jon Lovitz, Saturday Night Live, and one of the best sketches ever.
I didn't want to be assigned a "German dishwashing detergent logos" or a "Women laughing alone with salad" avatar... https://omegaforums.net/threads/set-yourself-an-avatar-d.697/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/whats-the-story-behind-your-avatar.75778/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/so-whats-the-story-behind-your-user-name-and-avatar.18835/
I was “given” an avatar of a French guy playing hockey, when I first signed on, about 7 years ago. I’m an Anglo, living in an Anglo province, about 3,000 kms away from a Franco province, and hockey interests me but little. So I chose a still life photo of an interest of mine (I play fiddle) as my avatar.
Band photo .. oh I forgot the username thing ... well, to add to this then, the user name I've had for a while, ever since I became an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church back in the mid 90s. Then a few guys at work called me "Z-Man" because of my crazy polish last name (anyone who has shipped something to me has seen the letter salad ellis island gave my family, remove letters in the process). The I was joining motorcycle boards as well, and the "RevZ" just sort of fit. so the whole thing stuck. In my gaming guild, most of my characters started with "Rev'" something so they just called me "RevZ". I WAS going to use it as a stage name but then the drummer Jimmy "Rev" Sullivan from Avenged Sevenfold had to use it and then pass away, so it didn't feel right to me (i'm a metal drummer if you couldn't tell.) So, to be unique, RevZMan or RevZMan123 depending on things and stuff.
Avatar: Watch a few episodes of Kojak and you’ll understand. He was quite a character. I had him as a screensaver before Telly and I shared the same hairstyle. User name. Play on words. Dur à Cuire is French and Google translates it to Badass. I always preferred tough guy. Been in so many fights; was hit by a truck; survived cancer (so far); choked at a restaurant and received abdominal thrusts, had three rounds of « Cardioversion» (defibrillator to put heart back in sinus), was jumped by a guy with a pitchfork, etc… there’s more stuff! Since I work with leather, I changed the « Cuire » (bake) in Dur à Cuire to « Cuir » (leather).
I love vintage road bikes and this was my latest build (Gitane TdF). It was intended to go straight to a for sale ad but I ended up keeping the bike! Like cars too, particularly Diesels, hence, Turbo Diesel Powered.
Jokes on you bud I went to the community college! Lol. Seriously though I did go to TCC for 2 years and ended up at USF St. Petersburg (hometown). Took my last semester online while living in NYC and ended up having to enroll @UF to take one class that USF ended up not offering (after they said they would). So despite my time in Tallahassee, I think I'm technically more Gator than "'Nole".
