I don't think I could even come close to @Duracuir1 story. Here is my boring one. My name is Vince and in Italian that would be Vincenzo. The guys on the baseball team gave me the nickname Cenzo. I always wanted a speedmaster since I was young. That story is told here (the Lovell story):
https://www.fratellowatches.com/you...hristmas-gift-jim-lovell-and-a-doctors-watch/

I took a pick of me and my watch on a full moon night.
Great Moonwatch story Vince!

We have fairly large acreage on Lake Leon with a lot of shoreline. Hence noelekal.

Just before I joined Omega Forums we'd been down along the Texas coast at Galveston and had stopped in for a visit to the Battleship Texas (BB35) so I simply stuck up a photo of it in order to supply an avatar photo.

The full photo didn't fit the parameters of the avatar feature.

A few photos of a portions of our place on the lake. It's mostly natural, undeveloped property on a lake in western North Texas.

Summer

Winter

Originally acquired by my great grandfather in the 1890s, the lake was impounded in the early 1950s and covered most of the original river bottom farm land.

My name is Julie, and I am simply one of the sheep that follow.

Avatar is a toy I got for teaching how incabloc shock ab sobers work. The springs on these break easy. I also like both vintage and modernist design. Sometimes less is more. Unless it is not.

As for my username, I'm an attorney and I owe my avatar to Jon Lovitz, Saturday Night Live, and one of the best skits ever.
It actually reminds me of Chespirito, brilliant Mexican comedian
My username is quite simple... Les (From Lester my name) and XL (Ixelles the neighbourhood in Brussels where I live, pronounced XL in French)

My avatar is my shadow when he was 6 months old 😀

My username comes from Ferdinand Bardamu, the main character of a french novel I deeply loved, Journey at the end of the night by L.F.Céline.

My avatar is a DALL-E generated Omega as I don't currently own a watch. My usernames is from my childhood - imagine saying 33 1/3 in an Irish accent...

Ah I forgot about my username. I've been using Aroxx as a gamer tag everywhere for about 15 years now. It started very much as an inside joke. I'm a bit hesitant to tell outsiders but y'all are like family now. Quite simply, it's my name, Alex, in Engrish. My Chinese programming professor in college pronounced my name like "Ahhhhrocks" and friends started calling me that. It reads online like "A" "Rocks" but that is incorrect.
Disclaimer: I love all Asian people and have deep respect for their culture. Please don't cancel me.

My username was my initial thought ... My avatar? Old alma mater. (I'm curious about how many members here have ever heard of the school.)

Avatar: Watch a few episodes of Kojak and you’ll understand. He was quite a character. I had him as a screensaver before Telly and I shared the same hairstyle.

User name. Play on words. Dur à Cuire is French and Google translates it to Badass.

I always preferred tough guy. Been in so many fights; was hit by a truck; survived cancer (so far); choked at a restaurant and received abdominal thrusts, had three rounds of « Cardioversion» (defibrillator to put heart back in sinus), was jumped by a guy with a pitchfork, etc… there’s more stuff!

Since I work with leather, I changed the « Cuire » (bake) in Dur à Cuire to « Cuir » (leather).

That's .... BADASS!

Great Moonwatch story Vince!
Thanks, Theo! I was shocked it was published after I submitted it. I guess every Speedy has a story. Maybe that should be the next thread.

Username comes from the opening credits to Monty Python’s Holy Grail. (Why a moose? Long story.)

The avatar used to be my old 1861, on the outside of my jacket, in the snow, before it malfunctioned and got butchered and eventually replaced by Omega (even longer story). Now it’s a stage called the Spider, created from recycled machinery and aircraft parts by the performance collective Arcadia Spectacular, who are based in my home city Bristol, UK. If you ever get the chance to see it - do.

Many days in my 20-30's I could be found in section 140 of the ballpark in SF, out in the bleacher seats. Common name so nicknames happen. (Which David? 140 Dave.)

Avatar; I'm a book nerd (watches and baseball and sci-fi ... oh my)

Moon, Mars and a Moonwatch….. it is what it says on the tin.
It is a composite of two photos to get the watch in focus, but it was a cold night with a window open (so not a total photoshop job :0)
