I'm surprised no one's talking about the actual price yet. Obviously it could change between now and when Omega officially opens order banks, but US pricing is pegged at $59,400 right now.

Are you getting that price from Omega's US website? The Australian website only has the 321 platinum in the Story section without any price.

Where are you getting that price? AFAIK Omega hasn't confirmed ANY pricing yet in any market, it's just supposition at this point. I don't think that price will be too far off the mark but nothing is released yet. The price is not on the Omega US site, only the 'news' story about it.

$81k in Australia according to one of the boutiques on Monday... mind you, this was the same boutique where the staff member literally laughed at me when I asked if they had any Apollo 11 50th in to have a look at.

I was half expecting the reason they couldn't show the AUD price on the local website is because it doesn't support 6 figures and that's what we'd need to pay.

So I guess I’m gonna be the only buffoon to say that I want one?

If speculative prices are true of north of $40 and maybe $50k USD that I’m expecting a platinum bracelet to match.

Trying to decide if the family really needs an SUV for the kids or if I need a second speedy 😝

From the Smithsonian images, it appears that Cernan's Apollo 17 watch (last watch on the moon) is a 105.012-66 CB:

and that Cernan's Apollo 10 watch is a 105.012-65:

There seems to be a contradiction here. This is from the official Omega announcement of the reintroduction of the 321:

"Using the 2nd generation Calibre 321 as a reference, the OMEGA team compiled extensive historical research and original plans to reconstruct the movement as accurately as possible. Going even further, they also used “tomography” technology (digital scanning method) to see inside the true Speedmaster ST 105.003 timepiece that astronaut Eugene “Gene” Cernan wore on the moon during the Apollo 17 mission in 1972. Cernan was the last man to walk on the lunar surface and his Speedmaster is now housed at the OMEGA Museum in Bienne. Its Calibre 321 provided the perfect design criteria for OMEGA to follow."

So which is it? 105.012 or 105.003?

Not the only one I guess. Personally, I like it as well a lot but that pricing level is wow... to say at least. I presume it will settle to at least 30% off with the grey market, and by that time I might have psychologically accepted it.

Cernan took two Speedies with him on Apollo 17, a 105.003 and a 105.012. The 105.003 was on a JB and the 105.012 was on a NASA velcro (black). He wore the 105.012 (only) on EVA's, as is clear from EVA photos (twisted lugs, black velcro). There is a good pic somewhere of him after splashdown with both on (one on each wrist).

Not sure why he took two, maybe a back up?

My ad said yesterday it will be £25,000 and not limited
But will be drip fed as they have set up new premises to manufacture this watch and a few others.
Everyone can get one if they live long enough

The prices posters in the US (USD59.4k) and Australia (AUD81k) are hearing from local OB/ADs line up closely but GBP25K is not much more than 50% of the US and Aus prices. Aus prices are usually quoted including 10% tax. Not sure in the US where state taxes vary. Even after adding VAT on GBP25k, the UK price is only approx USD37k. If the UK price is correct (and it doesn't sound right), I'll book a ticket to Heathrow and do some arbitrage trading.

That UK price can't be right, that would be low for a Pt watch of this caliber. The AD could be just misinformed.

May be Boris Johnson, snapped at Omega and told them “Quite enough I got to lead this country, don’t make life of my fellow islanders even worse and let them have affordable price for 321 in Platinum. Consequently they will have disposable savings for buying a Ticket To The Moon!”

Should be at 55K eur. Info from German OD. This in 5k more than 1815 chrono. I love speedies and have bunch of them, but at this price range the finishing level should be equal. Especially if that’s not crazy “rainbow” limited but regular model.
