Thank you.
I didn't expect it so soon
When he perked up after his first few steroids I knew not to expect too much but I did anyway.
We went in a pub where he was schmoozing everybody and they couldn't believe he had a brain tumour.
We got 6 weeks from the steroids after Zelda's diagnosis, and she was a happy girl and it was 100% joy until the last couple of days. But the tumors kept spreading to new places, and she was starting to show signs of discomfort at times. We didn't want to push our luck further and risk causing her suffering.

Dogs are amazingly good at milking every last moment of joy from their lives. At the end of her final walk around the block, when Zelda's little body was absolutely riddled with tumors (spleen, lungs, bladder, ...), she was dragging a bit because it was warm and she was weak, but still stopping to sniff at every opportunity. Then she saw some friends across the street and absolutely dragged me over there, wiggling and happy to see them.

Last year we were out looking at houses and I got talking to a bloke with an elderly boxer.
She had a huge tumour on her side and was wearing a tshirt to cover it.
She had that dignified look that old dogs get and also looked like she was saying "I wasn't always like this" (I'm filling up now) and all I wanted to do was give Polo a big hug.
We'd only just moved house in December and were talking to a couple who were making a fuss of Polo and then they mentioned they'd just lost a Beagle named Alan, the bloke was distraught.
Turns out the bloke, Michael is a watch geek too.

As wobbly as Polo was near the end, in the house and back garden, it was better than no Polo, but the last day when he was pacing for hours, there wasn't much of him left, he'd even gone off his food.

Remi is owning the waiting room at the vet's this morning...

And making shifting a little difficult on the drive there and back...

When we moved house my Mini was full of boxes and stuff so Polo sat on the front seat/gear lever exactly like Remi 😀

After my Shepard passed I played this song for weeks. Many moons have passed but it still makes me think of her. So here it is for Polo

Thanks
I don't think I'll ever forget our boy either
Bumped into a young red sitter last night named Lola yesterday who he used to play with.
She was full of beans and had her front feet on the bar of the pub looking for her (and Polo's) favourite cheddars.

A nice UK day here. As the sun set we were worried all was not OK at the corral. It looked like there might be a quick draw McClaw as they amigos had a little face off .. but Calamity Molverine was kind and old boy was not butch, so the day ended peacefully. Just as well since old boy had a claw trim yesterday and was disarmed. He is not that active so needs a helping hand with them. I think they get jealous when we are around sometimes. He still sees Molverine as a bit of an interloper. Mostly they rub along ok.

Do I have to wear this thing?

Yes Timmy, you’re wearing the damn diaper. You’re a sneaky little shit and pee on the ‘frig.

Just me and “the kids” watching the house this week. I just glanced up to see how the “squirrel patrol” are doing. It’s turns out it is a slow morning…..

I’m kinda confused. I keep Rocky raccoons food and water full, get catnip and treats which i dole out daily, yet he has picked my wife as his “favorite”. I clean up after him, rescued him from the shelter, bring him to the vet (ok the vet probably not cool he hates it)

I know some animals prefer females. When sooper dooper was alive she would hide if I had a male visitor but come out to visit females. When my wife’s car pulls up he goes insane yelling at the door.

I feel some kind of way about this. Going back to being a kid I was always the “human” the animal would pick as its buddy. May have to get a white fluffy cat sooner than I thought to combat the unexpected turn of events. My wife was scared of damn cats when we first got together how did things go so wrong?

This happy fellow belongs to one of our daughters but thankfully I get to meet up with him quite often 😀
