Sadly we had our boy PTS last night.
His health had detiorated and after another seizure yesterday he paced non-stop and wouldn't eat.

On Friday when I took him to the vets for a review and a repeat prescription I was told he was fine all things considered.

But I knew after being in the car and visiting the vets which he's never liked, he'd be quite lively.

He was pacing from 6-30am to 5-00pm when we got him to the car.

The vet said he hadn't come out of the post ictal stage and even if a stay in hospital brought him out of it, it wouldn't last long.

I'd been preparing for this since February and each week there was less and less of our happy handsome boy but even so it was still gut wrenching coming back to an empty house.

Our lives have centred round him including no more foreign holidays, they'd all been areas where the 3 of us could walk.

POLO, 2012-2024, a happy handsome boy.

My heart goes out to you.

Our new puppy hoping the cat will be her friend...

Doggo looks very anxious to be friends. Kitty, not so much.

Thanks Steve.
The house seems massive with my missus at work and my mate gone.
Even with her at home it's still empty.
I always thought he'd let me know when he'd had enough but at the end he didn't know what was going on and there was no option.

I've got a Mini Clubman 👍
I always wanted to take Polo out in a soft top, Healey big 6 or something like that.
He didn't like cars but behaved himself when we were taken out in a 1949 Bentley 6 years ago.
Only a bit of slaver on the windows 🤪😜

Thank you and yes we have that as some comfort.
Whatever had happened before he was rescued we'll never know but the way he settled in was astonishing.

A couple of days after we said goodbye to our old lady, we received a lovely card from our Veterinary Practice.

Enclosed inside the card was a surprise that bought tears to my eyes.

Unbeknown, Vet had taken paw prints from Isa for us.

We made the decision to have her cremated, and on the 22nd., she came home to us.

Isa was a working Cocker Spaniel, and had been my companion on a commercial Shoot, for ten years of her life. Hence, my wife and I will scatter her ashes on the shoot, come October when the Season starts for us.

I'm just seeing this now and while I knew it was coming, it's still heartbreaking to hear. Rest in peace, Polo, may your memory be a blessing to your family.

Remi is owning the waiting room at the vet's this morning...

And making shifting a little difficult on the drive there and back...

Thank you.
I didn't expect it so soon
When he perked up after his first few steroids I knew not to expect too much but I did anyway.
We went in a pub where he was schmoozing everybody and they couldn't believe he had a brain tumour.
