Hi Omega Forum
I would appreciate any information on my recently inherited Omega Constellation 18ct gold watch please. Its fully working and keeps good time.
Is there a model name?
The self winding works and I can change the time and date. But the manual winder doesnt appear to turn. Should it manually wind?
Should I get this cleaned and serviced? It does have that old smell.

Thanks in advance

Yes it is a Constellation as it says on the dial. Model 368.5470 18k gold.

Awesome condition but I don’t understand the integrated bracelet. On the crown, I would be careful and not wind it until it has been serviced

if you let us know where you are based we can make some recommendations for service. If you’re in the UK Simon Freese comes highly recommended.

What a lovely watch
Last of the Dennison cases perhaps or a Shackmann?
I think the Dennison's were still in production up until late '66, and still sold in early '67 but it's on the cusp and I believe Shackmann produced this same style after Dennison went bump.
(the retail sale date is early '68 but it's possible it sat for a while before being sold)
It will be interesting to see the hallmarks inside.
@steveh1600 are there any hallmarks on the inside of the clasp? - that might give us a clue

Thank you
I suspect the full makers mark would be DS&S for Shackman.
odd that the hallmark was applied then the fitting fixed on top of it.
it’s not conclusive as Shackman were famous for producing rather wonderful gold bracelets to use with gold watches - but given the timing and the fact that the bracelet is physically attached, there is a strong possibility that the watch case is also by Shackman.
All will be revealed when your watchmaker removes the back when you have the watch serviced.
