Help with a 13.33

I know nothing about them and came across this one. Weird thing is part of the case and mvmt are damaged to remove the Longines wording.

Based on my cursory comparison of other pics off the net, it seems the case, dial, and crown are good (maybe 80% confidence level). Perhaps the hinge has been fixed.

With the mvmt, it's a 13.33 and the serial matches the case and mvmt, but the mvmt numbers look iffy.

Just seeing what folks think.

Authentic Longines dial but hour/minute hands are wrong, and the outer back should not detach from the case (hinge is broken). These factors, combined with the damaged movement mean that this example is best avoided.

The back is easily repaired.

Could be. But to mistreat one of the most beautiful movements this way? Every time I´d look at that watch, I´d think of what it looks like inside.

As an owner, This just makes me so sad to see a beautiful and horologically important watch abused like this. From what I can see, the dial is in amazing shape too.

Why do you think so? Because of its age? I know that they are usually seen with Breguet hands. But over the years I have also seen very many of the 13.33 with that dial and those leaf hands, but agreed mostly on later watches.

...these hands (above) are too long. The minute hand should point on the minute track!

Now that you said it...
I just had a look at the form. 🤦

...mine has a 477XXXX movement number (ca. 1928) while the example shown above has a 439XXXX number which points on +/- 1925.

Beauty. Deserves to be brought back and it's not in bad shape at all.
Seems like someone had a beef with Longines though.

I think you got it possibly wrong, it's not the hands that don't match the watch, it's the dial isn't original to the watch. Longines is removed everywhere except the most important place, the dial? Don't make a crap load a sense mate. Longines was removed from the original dial. You'd be lucky if the current dials genuine. This watch is scrap.

The dial is an authentic, Longines dial for the 13.33Z. It is difficult to prove whether the dial or hour/minute hands have been replaced, but they do not match.

That withholding, be a damn fool to buy this lot. The dials about the only thing of value. Nothing can be done for the scared remains. Be desperate times before this be worth a buck.

Nope, like DirtyDozen12 said - the dial is an authentic, Longines dial for the 13.33Z

And it looks to be in great condition as well. That is worth a pretty penny if someone has a 13.33Z with a dial that has hairlines or worse.

The hinge issue on the case can be fixed and you have a pretty good case too.

Shame about the movement, of course. But let's not be dramatic and said "desperate times before this be worth a buck" unless you meant "before this be worth many many thousands of bucks" - because as is, the dial alone is worth 4 figures itself.

Would you recommend putting your money into a watch that has had Longines removed from any identifiable part of the watch? This is one of the most vandalized watches I've ever seen.

are we looking at the same dial? The dial is signed Longines and is correct (despite the wrong hands)
