Help with a 2848/FX6040

I picked this watch up in an auction lot. It just came back from service and I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is. The inside case back doesn't have a reference number. Caliber 490 movement with 17 jewels. Serial number 14 mil, 1955. The dial is marked OMEGA Automatic. The text is crisp and centered and it has lume on all the indexes. The black has some texture and might have been redone at some point, but if so it was done very well. The bracelet end links don't match but they work. My searches so far lead me to think it's either a 2848 or FX 6040. Any info you can share would be great.

Came with a 60s Seamaster DeVille that kept near perfect time right out of the gate so I skipped service and just wear it (which I am right now)
