Dear Forumers,
I came across a SM300 in a new jeweler in town.
He showed me a seamaster that I suspect is a 165.014, but I don't think it's an all original watch, since I can spot several issues (first dial).
I asked him to open it when he will have time to see what's inside...
SO, here are the pictures :

I need to have an idea of the cost and difficulty to modify it to it's original form
For exemple could you restore the bracelet, it seems very flimsy...

A BigTri straight lug???

Looks like a 165.024 (service) dial in a 14755/165.014 case with service hands. Wrong crown.
Interesting that the 7077 bracelet is the oldest part of all.

Lots of mismatched parts.

Michael Young in Hong Kong could restore the bracelet for about $250.

There is plenty wrong with the rest of the watch though.. but it still looks cool.. a real unicorn!

If you don’t mind it missing 3 double expansion links which cost hundreds apiece.

Thank you for the feedback, so there is so much wrong that it will be impossible to find a dial/Hands/crown/ and a bezel insert.
What is it worth just as parts?

It is possible to find the original, but very hard.. Especially in good conditions. You need to keep your eyes open on the forum, on ebay ecc.. The bezel is almost impossible to find. And when you find it prepare yourself to pay top $$. A good compromise is to restore it by sending to Aldo or Rene. We need better photos of the watch.

Given that the dial and hands were swapped I think it's entirely possible the movement may also be from a 165.024.

What about the member of OF who makes bezels? I forgot his name. He had a thread here recently and I was impressed by his work. Is'nt Aldo or Rene very slow? Dont have experience by the way with Aldo or Rene.

It’s a 147165.014024. Rare!
The mystery is clearing, the caseback is in fact a 14755-61 SC, the 552 is in the 18 29XXX range, so it's seems legid.
It runs perfectly well for on old watch +4 sec, at least for me
it has a 7077 bracelet, with extension links that have no more springs in them and N°6 endlinks.
But how I am going to find a dial for it 😲.
For instance, there is a correct set of hands on ebay that are expensive and without any radium on them...that could be a nice feature after all 😀, but still expensive
I send a PM to McGyver

The feet of the dial for 14755 are different from the 2913's dial. With the 14755 the Seamaster started to assemble the cal.522 instead of the 501.
You can find some dials but always check the feet 😉
