Hi! I have unfortunately dinged up my unpolished 2937’s bezel. I have been told I could polish out the ding but that would leave my watch ‘polished’. I just need the bezel for a 2937 case. I don’t know if it’s case specific or an interchangeable one with other 50s models (2937 case is 36mm cal 267). I know this a petty problem but the ding location bothers me. Just need the bezel PLEASE HELP

I think it’ll take more than 4 hours to find a new bezel!

Have you thought about repositioning the b zeal so the ding is in a less prominent position?

I think these dings could easily be fixed by laser welding and a gentle polish afterwards,

kind regards Max

Tried to reposition it already, still no good. I’m getting PTSD like episodes of denting the watch

do you know of anyone who does a good job with laser welding? I think that would be my last resort if a bezel is really out of the question

There are many threads where someone is looking for a bezel ... they almost never find it. You would most likely need to buy a donor watch. An alternative would be to have the existing bezel properly repaired, by laser welding followed by machining with a lathe. This custom work will probably cost close to the value of the watch.

Hoping someone here on OF knows if 1950s bezels are interchangeable between models

Just pop off the glass ring and send it to someone who can laser weld it.
The trick is to get new "patina" on the welded areas after it has been refinished!
On the other hand, just wear it and the new "patina" will blend in quickly.

Generally not. In fact, sometimes bezels from the same case reference might be different enough that they don’t fit properly.

Your best best is either the laser welding solution or get a watchmaker to take off the bezel, and rotate the dent to the 3 o’clock position next to the crown.

It will be less noticeable there.

Hey thanks for this! I’m not into the laser welding method, replacing it is the best way to keep it as honest as possible while improving the watch’s aesthetic. The dent is a real eyesore. Cheers from Manila! This is the watch now with the dent between 8-9 and at 1. Patina is crazy beautiful so I prefer to keep it unpolished.

Personally I would leave it alone. You could ask unique bisyo local to you about laser welding and other repair options .

Would you happen to know where I could order the part? I’m new to OF so I can’t really post until I reach 200.

Thanks!

The case might be unpolished but it looks pretty heavily worn. The bezel ding does not look out of place at all with all the small marks, scratches and nicks. I vote enjoy it the way it is. A vintage watch that has been worn and enjoyed.

The case doesn’t seem as bad without the dent on the bezel. My whole entire point is that the dent actually negatively magnifies the marks, nicks and scratches. Whereas if it didn’t have a dent (say by replacing it) the marks, nicks and scratches complement the overall look.

Wouldn’t a brand new bezel look out of place against the dial and case (or are you clogging to put it in a bag of pebbles for a few days)?

I assume Al will confirm that the part is only available to Omega certified watchmakers unless you search eBay/Google using the part number to try and locate one
