Help me decide if I should buy this 145.018

Hello OF,

I found this 145.018 online with some not so great photos and was wondering if anyone could tell whether the dial was a redial or not? I know it’s not a lot to go off of.... but still I ask. Thanks in advance for any help!

also: I realize the pushers are missing

I don’t have any 861 Seamaster chronographs, but none of my 321 Seamasters have the coat hook ‘S’ in Seamaster.

The crystal is so bad that it makes it impossible to really evaluate the dial. Given its lack of pushers, I assume it’s dirt cheap.

Thank you for pointing out the S. I too haven’t seen that besides this example, but this doesn’t look very kosher from I’m what I can tell. Also, not necessarily dirt cheap, 2k usd

The ‘S’ hitting the ‘O’ is not right.

Other than that, I can’t see any obvious tells.

edit: I wonder if only ‘Seamaster’ was added to the dial of a non-Seamaster chronograph.

That could be a possibility, but all the instances of the 145018 I’ve seen have had either de ville or Seamaster on it, not just omega. But I know diddly squat about these so...

The later 145.018 had "De Ville" written on the dial instead of "Seamaster". I notice "De Ville" dials have no T indication at the bottom - the OP's example doesn't have either. It could be a later dial with Seamaster added.

Mine also has Seamaster on the dial, you can find both

I’m going to pass on it, I’m not in a position right now to take this kind of risk. If someone wants the link, pm me. I’m really interested to see what this really looks like with a new crystal and better photos. Seller wants 1900 usd for it.

Mine also has Seamaster on the dial, you can find both

Yep, I think the earliest examples were with "Seamaster" on the dial and then they changed to "De Ville". Heres mine.
